I look forward to wages definitely keeping up with inflation! And I look forward to our government doing its best to make sure the minimum wage is maintained at a level that provides people the ability to live!
What I’d give to have the minimum wage be retroactively adjusted for inflation and tied to inflation from here on out. We’re well past the point of 15 being enough, lol.

I dont understand the quote. It sounds like hes saying thats not what to do.
The guy is clearly a nut (Russia bombing Ukraine to knock out bioweapons labs run by Fauci?) But the reporting is confusing.

Won't be long before the price to fill up said Civic with a tank of gas is equal to the outstanding balance of my student loans at this rate.

It's true that Capitol rioters broke the law. It has been proven in court. It's also quite likely that they would not have done that it Trump had not told them to "go to the Capitol peacefully". That said, whether by design or accident, the words Trump uttered give him plausible deniability about whether he incited the riot, or whether the protestors just got out of control once they got there, without Trump's direction. It is a fundamental principle that guilt must be proven beyond reasonable doubt in a courtroom and Trump left himself more than enough doubt that I don't think he would ever be found guilty for what he did on Jan 6.

That was clearly said in jest to demonstrate the futility and ridiculousness of just lying down and taking the hits in an election. Was it wise to utter something that could be easily taken out of context? Maybe. But then he has another excuse to blame the "fake news legacy media".

If the context is a joking, rather grotesque analogy to draw parallels of how ridiculous taking another course of action, the thing you’re drawing the analogy for should probably not be a completely untrue allegation of electoral fraud.
Where best case scenario is not making a terrible analogy to illustrate a valid point, and a middle ground where one makes a terrible analogy to illustrate a valid point, which I am certainly guilty of haha, this is hitting 0/2
I’m not even outraged tbh, bar a simmering disdain I just sort of shrug my shoulders at this point.

Edit: Already posted link just imagine this is in reply to farva.
Interesting timing on this from what was said yesterday. The first Federal trial of Jan 6ers, Guilty on all counts including carrying a pistol into the capitol. Notably also as a case where one was turned in by a relative and providing a pretty solid case for the next 500 or so cases it says are behind it. Probably a pretty heavy outlier for all the cases and I don't think that he'll get the 20 years max but certainly the start of a lot of court cases for these terrorists.

The sad thing is these aren’t lone wolf types. Everyone who benefitted from the ‘stop the steal’ narrative, propagated and profited from it are going to skate.
There seems to me a curious lack of anger about that, from the similar types of people who were there at the Capitol.

Very vulgar and inappropriate for civil society of course, but considering he's basically trying to appeal to rednecks...

Does it work as an analogy if your target audience doesn’t think the parallel you’re drawing is even a bad thing?

Rednecks are smart enough to know that rape is bad, I'd imagine.

I'm just saying that when there's a crowd of a couple thousand and it's estimated by NPR that 3 dozen had weapons, but mostly makeshift blunt objects, no guns, no knives, etc, that crowd did set out with the intent to hunt and kill people.
Let's examine how doc chose to respond to this situation,
1) Pretends facts are being exaggerated, essentially rejecting well documented reality.
2) Presupposes that the facts being discussed are a matter of disagreement, that it is just a matter of looking through a different lens, rather than documented reality.
3) Pretends what determines if bad people were present is the % of them, not the absolute value.
In the end, it is worth pointing out that he has essentially not conceded a single point throughout this entire conversation. It has been long winded justifications for rejecting the realities that all of us are taking as a given.

I might be broadly in favour both of the cause and methodology of protests against the police. It a bunch of folks at such a protest were chanting fuck the police, had weapons and stormed a police station and were stopped, making a claim like ‘no police officers were in danger’ would be patently ridiculous.
