If they couldn’t get guilty of murder with a video of a man slowly killing another over 9 minutes then I don’t know what it’ll take. Even if he was struggling, he should have been, he was being killed, struggling is self defence at that point.

I'm thinking in terms of it being unanimous. Murder would that one murky area where one person is stubborn and can't wrap their head around it or something. So they drop it and get unanimous on the other. I don't fucking know. We'll see if Minny rages tonight or not in a few minutes.

The three charges are second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter, in descending order of severity. It may very well be the case that they traded on the first for the second two, but I think at least one or two jurors would have been reluctant to do that in a way the single day of deliberations renders unlikely. It's guilty on all three or on the lesser two almost certainly though.

ok. so watching the expert witness recap it appears just about everyone threw Chauvin to the wolves. except for his lawyer who just does lawyer stuff and tried.

If I were a betting man I would bet that they're convicting on Manslaughter 2 and Murder 3 but not Murder 2. The case for Murder 2 seemed much more of a coin flip than the other two and I'm not betting on a jury siding against a cop if it's something so up in the air.
