Everything you can read about Epstein is disgusting and shows how corrupt the US justice system is. We have a person who is a serial abuser of underage girls, everyone knows it, and he just gets away with it because he is rich and knows people. Just reading about it makes me incredibly angry. Why does that piece of shit get a plea deal that means he is immune to prosecution, and for the single case that he ends up spending time in prison, he goes to a luxury prison where he can hire his own guards. What the fuck is that shit?
How can you explain any of that to the people and there is not a revolt? There is not even any doubt that he did the things he is accused of, but he just gets away because he is rich and has powerful friends. There is simply no shame on behalf of the people who let him get away with it. It is disgusting, and people should be far more angry about it then they seem to be. Maybe i am just late to the party here because i just found out about it, and all the anger turned to resignation for other people already. But still...the whole thing is just so incredibly and obviously corrupt. Speaking of which, take a look at this paragraph from the DOJ's detention memo to the judge in the Epstein case: Finally, despite having been previously convicted of a sex offense involving an underage victim, the defendant has continued to maintain a vast trove of lewd photographs of young-looking women or girls in his Manhattan mansion. In a search of the New York Residence on the night of his arrest, on July 6-7, 2019, pursuant to judicially-authorized warrants, law enforcement officers discovered not only specific evidence consistent with victim recollections of the inside of the mansion, further strengthening the evidence of the conduct charged in the Indictment, but also at least hundreds—and perhaps thousands—of sexually suggestive photographs of fully- or partially-nude females. While these items were only seized this weekend and are still being reviewed, some of the nude or partially-nude photographs appear to be of underage girls, including at least one girl who, according to her counsel, was underage at the time the relevant photographs were taken. Additionally, some of the photographs referenced herein were discovered in a locked safe, in which law enforcement officers also found compact discs with hand-written labels including the following: “Young [Name] + [Name],” “Misc nudes 1,” and “Girl pics nude.” The defendant, a registered sex offender, is not reformed, he is not chastened, he is not repentant; rather, he is a continuing danger to the community and an individual who faces devastating evidence supporting deeply serious charges. I think this has just pushed me over the edge. The entire system is fucked. Any ordinary person can look at it and say it's broken and the people at the top don't care and do whatever they want. The fail-safes designed to protect ordinary citizens such as the justice system are completely corrupted. At this point I fully expect the elites to start shooting off "undesirables" as soon as they can replace them with robots.
In any sensible world this man should be on suicide watch 100 % of the time, with constant camera surveillance and like 10 different people guarding him so as to make bribing them more difficult. But officials "found him". How the fuck do you find him? There should be eyes on him at all times. A toddler could understand that.
I hope someone develops an AI singularity that wipes out humanity, it would be worth it just to see the smugness disappear from the elites faces and turned to fear as they realize that they too will die like everyone else.

No way he was on suicide watch.
He'd be ass naked in an empty cell and would have to bash his own brains in against the wall with someone watching him (or at least in earshot).

Its to convenient, at the very least he was allowed to commit suicide but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of it being involuntary either.

Given his circumstances "allowing it" (which seems pretty undeniable) is tantamount to killing him imo. Maybe like manslaughter to murder.

No, lets assume there is a conspiracy. I'm tired of this good faith thing. If they had him on suicide watch let them prove it conclusively. While at the same time eliminating any motive for either killing him or letting him commit suicide by following up on the investigating in a transparent way in order to dig really deep into any and all associated people. Burn enough prominent pedophiles and rapist to the ground and I will buy it was a suicide. Bury the entire thing with Epstein and I will assume it was a conspiracy 100 % and change my worldview accordingly.

This is juicy stuff. It has long been reported that Epstein kept blackmail tapes on the public figures who had sex with his girls. And this case is being handled in the SDNY's public corruption unit, with "assistance" from the child sex crimes unit. Everyone on those tapes needs to go down in flames. Billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein has died by suicide in his Manhattan jail early Saturday morning, three law enforcement officials told ABC News.
He was being held without bail at the Metropolitan Correctional Center awaiting trial on charges of conspiracy and sex trafficking. He pleaded not guilty to the charges, and a judge said he wouldn't face trial before June 2020.
He's accused of arranging to have sex with girls as young as age 14 in the early 2000s at Epstein's residences in Manhattan and Florida.

He'd be ass naked in an empty cell and would have to bash his own brains in against the wall with someone watching him (or at least in earshot).
Agreed here.
If someone could get strangled to death (by their own work or someone elses), there wasn't very much quality watching going on.
I've had family on suicide watch before. Even in a taxpayer funded ward in a 'shithole' country, there was not much opportunity for self-harm in that small, locked down building teaming with nurses and security. If the great US of A could have an extremely high profile, known suicide risk target die like that, they weren't f***ing trying.

That would be nice. But no, I don't expect that too happen. I'm just tired off all of this shit. Why pretend that the system works when it obviously doesn't? It's not just this that's wrong. No, it was the people at the top who wanted it. I could keep piling up examples on where companies and powerful people are let off the hook but I honestly think it's the wrong way to go.

Sounds to me that it has, you just don't like what it's meant to do.
EDIT: The real question is what are you going to do about it while they keep rubbing your face in it?
What's likely to happen from here imo is a quiet settlement for the victims in the 08 case and them wanting "this all to just be over" after the guy they were scared of, died under questionable circumstances in state custody, which will be deemed a suicide. Prosecutors will lose interest in pursuing this and likely see some promotions in the coming years or find themselves suddenly hitting a streak of bad luck if they continue to pursue it.

They just lie usually. Then investigate themselves and confirm they aren't lying. Sandra Bland is an example. Worst case someone gets fired and has to get quietly rehired at another facility. If you think our concentration camps are bad, wait till you hear about our prisons.
tbh I'm shocked anyone is surprised.

Letting the world's highest profile criminal and known suicide risk hang himself in a jail cell strikes me as rather obvious malice. Someone, somewhere was bribed and either let it happen or made it happen. Recall a former cop (Tartaglione) was possibly implicated in Epstein's previous suicide attempt last month. At the time I thought it was an obvious hit on Epstein, but I haven't followed the case since then. I wonder how this "suicide" will play out. There has to be some element of conspiracy at play here, either in arranging for negligence in monitoring a suicide watch inmate or in coordinating a hit.

I find it funny how Trump supporters are saying Clinton had him killed, and the non-Trumpers are saying Trump had him killed. At least both sides agree there is something fishy going on...

Seriously doubt it was Trump's side seeing how it was his justice department pursuing him. Trump is stupid enough to try to leverage Epstein against political opponents and not secure him though.
Low level gangs (and the prosecutors running their cases) manage shit like this better.
EDIT: A vaguely competent prosecution would have him under the highest security possible at all times if they actually expected him to testify against anyone remotely important.

Your edit directly contradicts the reasoning in your first paragraph, it would make sense to have a Trump-directed DoJ initiate a poorly overseen case with the aim of “allowing” something bad happen to Epstein. The signs point in both directions at this point of wild speculation.
My bet is with Epstein’s camp itself at this point.

I suppose granting my point about neglect being tantamount to killing him. Trump had him over a barrel though, he wasn't in any danger of being exposed (for what, that the people who would, don't believe already anyway?). Doesn't make any sense for Trump's camp to instigate this. Allow it, maybe, but not instigate his death. It's really hard to wrap my mind around how stupid the prosecutor had to be (to think this wouldn't make them look awful if it's not just raw incompetence).

I mean that makes a lot of sense really. I was thinking something like this doesn't even get to someone like Clinton. Long before that it hits Epstein's more direct enablers who can be pinned with shutting him up if they get caught anyway. The higher ups don't even have to so much as whisper an order either.
