I especially don't wanna feel bad if I pick out something for you, and you're like meh about it and get it cut that way and it ends up being something you don't want. Really, while hair styling to make it look cool is standard, etc. I think there's also a lot of self-expression involved in it (I feel that I can more or less accurately guess one of a guy's key personality aspects based on their hair/face 90% of the time, though I'm prolly giving myself a lot of slack). So for that reason, the best advice I can tell you off the bat without having seen your picture/seen the length and characteristics of your hair is to read my first post in this thread, look through sites and/or magazines for styles, look at what you genuinely would like but seems kinda impossible, etc. For me I get a lot of "inspiration" from a lot of stuff. From pop stars (I was even looking at GoRush's hair for a bit a long time back, but note that the key is inspiration and not emulation) to seeing my shadow on the wall walking down a hall in my house, because the shadow is distorted a bit by the angle of the wall and the light source, it creates a different view of how the hair at a part of my head really is and I think to myself "maybe I should try that next time as best as possible". I also get inspiration when I wake up and my hair still has a bunch of wax in it (I usually shower in the mornings, not at night). So I wake up with this "bed hair" and sometimes, by random fluctuation, my hair derives some really cool aspect in a certain part (be it the front, sides, or back). Really strange, I know ![]() ![]() edit: clarity

It's more like patterns/trends in the fashionable styles that I've noticed. Very very broadly speaking, trendy Japanese hair tends to lean more towards longer styles, while most Korean trends stay within short-medium. There are a ton of exceptions, and in a lot of cases, there's a lot of overlap now. I also believe Koreans tend to have more volume in their hairstyles (think Casy's hair, and sorta NaDa's), while in the popular Japanese community, there's more thinning out and waving at some points. Of course, you'll still have Japanese people who have bushy hair, Koreans with thinned out hair, etc. I'm really bad explaining with words, so I'll try to use pictures. At the near-extremes of Japanese popular hair style, you have the visual kei hairstyles. These were largely influenced by the long hair styles of 80s American metal-ish bands, but have deviated into their own stylistic form. For example, Here is Alice Nine: ![]() (they're all guys) The styles worn in Japanese Popular culture (think the backstreet boys of Japan) have their hair much more watered down. The hairstyles have a very broad range, but a lot of them lean towards a longer, thinner, more colorful approach (Japanese tend to dye all of their hair instead of just certain places, in general). Additionally, Japanese tend to like to grow out their bangs to a longer extent. A lot of Korean styles' bangs usually end above their eyebrows, sometimes waved that way. Some Japanese styles may have bangs that go past their eyes, etc. ![]() Shinhwa, Korean pop group. ![]() NewS, Japanese pop group. I have to admit both pictures are a tad outdated though. I think since you seem more inclined with Korean styles because of the swarms of Reach/YellOw pics you save, you may end up liking Korean styles more. But like I said, there's a lot of overlap nowadays, anyway. Another way of putting it, Korean styles are a bit more conservative in general, Japanese styles tend to make you look strange if you're surrounded by white people (I'm guessing 90% of white people that read this post have cringed at the NewS photo, even moreso at the A9 photo, and were just like meh about the Shinhwa photo). Sorry if this presentation sucks. I don't have links to the sites I usually peruse because those are on my comp at school, but for now if you're still interested, you can google image different pop groups to see the wide variety. You should note that some bands, particularly Korean, tend to change their hairstyles a lot each time they release a new album or something. So you might see huge differences even within a single group at different times. Korean: Shinhwa, Dong Bang Shin Ki, Super Junior, SS501 Japanese: Arashi, KATTUN, NewS, V6 If somehow you're actually genuinely interested in more jrock and visual kei styles, you can google up L'Arc~en~Ciel, Alice Nine, SID, 12012, Gazette, Dir en grey, Luna Sea, Janne Da Arc, etc. there's a ton of them out there.
