Words from salle
Well I don’t know how it was for everyone else but to me September just flew by…. and then 2/3rds of October too. >_>
September was a great month for the wikis. More regular Dota 2 tournaments started up again after the long wait before TI5 and then the event itself. Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, and StarCraft II are getting closer and closer to the final participants at the various Blizzcon tournaments that is only about 2 weeks away now. Counter-Strike is soon to have another Valve Major.
The sudden drop for the Dota 2 and Heroes Contributors is due to us having a Bracket contest in August which boosted those numbers. Speaking of bracket contest, keep your eyes peeled for the BlizzCon one(s) which will be posted soon.

Our gratitude to the various Korean tournament page contributors, including BLinD-RawR and Peeano. Many thanks to rotta for updating many player pages of those who’ve retired or moved on to SC2. Ricci and GeckoXP have begun the tedious effort of implementing more automated pool prize templates & player achievement tables. Finally, the weekly Legacy Cup series is ongoing with a variety of folks chipping away to complete them!
The Monthly Goals
There are still a lot old tournaments missing and every bit of help adding old tournaments is appreciated. Even though some work on old Proleagues were done, these very important team leagues are still not on par with their StarCraft II counterparts, so if you are looking for somewhere to help out, this is your chance.

The Monthly Goals
The finals of the last HotS Premier tournaments before WCS Global Finals (GSL, Proleague) are around the corner. All eyes are turning to the new expansion, Legacy of the Void, which will be released on November 10.
To be ready, we need to make and maintain pages for all the units, and all the other pages (Unit / building statistics, Patches, new game features etc.)

6.85 happened, which always means lots of work for us as we have to update what feels like the entire wiki. Aeroblaster is always a monster for these game mechanics pages, so shout out to her, and everyone else who pushed through that work.
Shoutout to ahswtini who uploaded images of all the ingame emoticons and created a page dedicated to them.
It’s nice to be back into the swing of things, so shoutout to all the live updaters for all the tournaments running now, and for all the now almost too-frequent roster changes. Yhamm, Whispers and Elyvilon have continued to rack up lots of edits here, but id also like to give some recognition to XMS, Seanzk and Tehh4ck3r, who have done some great work.
Imallison has been editing once a week like clockwerk for I don’t know how long, creating weekly results pages that go far too un-recognized. I’d like to boost the visibility of these in some way, as they could be a great public resource. We could even talk about automating some with smw?
The Monthly Goals
There are still two main things we are focusing on for the dota wiki, although both are more of an ongoing process then something we could dream of ‘finishing’ in a month. First, there has been lots of great work going towards team and player bios, and it has been great seeing more and more pages with a bit of an article going, but we still have lots to do here. Our second project is updating all the old tournaments to support our smw queries, which means we are adding TeamCard and Prize_pool_start templates to these pages. The purpose of this is that it lets us automate the process of building results for players and teams. More and more tournaments are getting updated, but we have a good sized backlog of old and smaller tournaments that still need updating. See Category:Tournaments missing TeamCards and Category:Tournaments missing Prize pool start if you want to help out!

Ricci and Hzhenyu007 were again the top contributors Ricci working on the game mechanics/cards and Hzhenyu007 on tournaments..
Clubfan wrote a template to display individual achievements of a team’s players, as it can be seen on
The Monthly Goals
The tournament results need to be kept up to date.
We still need to add the new expansion cards and the images for them.
Player transfers are also a priority.
We also want to introduce so-called Semantic Forms for easier and faster editing of standardized pages like Cards, Players and Teams.

Lafungo, Kaabistar (new reviewers!) and Shloub handled Paragon.
Ilerminaty, Swampflare, Ricci and others also helped with HTC Throwdown and DreamHack London 2015.
Work on other games also advanced, with new icon templates for instance.
The Monthly Goals
The big challenge is of course The Big House 5 (with crews handling improvement), and as usual we’d like to progress on the other games project.

Tournament results keeps being the top priority. Second to this is adding more information and small tactical advice about the battlegrounds and heroes.

Clubfan has ported the list of ongoing and upcoming matches from Dota2 and Heroes. It can be found on Main Page and, in a more extensive form, Liquipedia:Upcoming and ongoing matches.
The Monthly Goals
We still have articles which need to be merged, besides this obviously keeping live tournaments up to date is also the highest priority.
Wiki Changelog
This month, we finally upgraded the software powering the wiki to the newest version. Since the old version was out of support, this was a heavily needed change. Unfortunately after the upgrade not everything was working as expected, but we are working on getting everything back on track. We upgraded the crosstable templates on all the wikis for performance and flexibility improvements. The VideoFlash extension was dropped in favour of the more powerful and more secure EmbedVideo extension.
The new version changed some default user preferences like the Special:RecentChanges style and automatically watching a page when you edit it, if you wish to change these back to their previous state, go to “Special:Preferences”, in the “Recent changes” tab untick the “Group changes by page in recent changes and watchlist”, and in the “Watchlist” tab untick “Add pages and files I edit to my watchlist” and “Add pages I create and files I upload to my watchlist”.
