so with that weed that my buddy gave me, I've been thinking of ways to use it up quickly without just huffing it back, especially since he had it laying around for months and months. It's really fucking dry stuff, so I'm thinking I'll have a hell of a time just burning through it with my bong. Making pot brownies/tea came to mind, but I haven't made it before, so I have no idea how it turns out based on the quality of the weed. I'd prefer brownies/cookies, since last time I had tea it was disgusting as fuck. Would this be a good way to use the weed (about 1oz) I have? Will old dry weed just ruin it? I'm open to suggestions. I'd rather not hang around the schools ripping off kids with skank weed just to get rid of it quickly lol | ||

When making hash you get a lot less material but a ton stronger. Also tincture, or "green dragon" is very good too, all you have to do is get any high proof alcohol and add activated thc which can be done with heat, either stove, oven, or just left in the sun (takes a lot longer, also if making with fire check online for specific temperatures). When you have your tincture you can put it on anything, a spliff, cereal, buds, gummi bears (you can soak these), or just put it right in your mouth and swish underneath tongue for a minute (tastes best diluted in choco milk). Hey I did some research on this after reading it. This is what I came too: I would try and make hash with it. If not 15 minutes in the oven at 300 degrees as this apparantly does the trick in removing it (the high temperature will kill bacteria), add in some lemon juice drops to help neutralize the bacteria. The lemon bit, is from my experience with mold and food. It sometimes can be salvageable. Another great lemon tip is rubbing the inside of a bag or plastic container with lemon juice. This will make the weed taste great and the acidity will help keep bacteria out. Placing it in a fridge or freezer after-words is recommended. The only "deadly" mold seems to be one named Stachybotrys, and it is rather rare. So it's not a general concern (as in, I wouldn't worry if you have this one, you most likely don't). As well it seems more deadly (or perhaps higher infection rate) to infants and elder people, or people with generally bad immune systems. It seems that there are quite a few risks with moldy weed, mostly respitory/immune problems. However, these are actually rather limited in their infection rates, and the most common are the more annoying (but not really a problem) allergy/asthma problems. As well, the strains most probable to develop on marijuana don't seem to be of particular deadliness, the more rare ones on the other hand do pose some serious risks. Prevention of mold seems to be easiest executed by simply reducing the moisture level until the weed is below 15% moisture content.. however, since there's no way to really measure moisture content, i would just go for "pretty dry". I realize quite a few people like to purposelly keep their bud a little moist, through re-hydration or whatever method. Although it might smoke better, the chance for contamination is FAR higher than if you dried the bud out quite well. So it's kind of a gamble i guess. There doesn't seem to be any way to reduce the amount of spores that you intake (with the exception of cooking Aspergillus, and perhaps a few others), as even water bongs don't help much, thus if you're going to be inhaling a mold you should know WHICH one it is, and any problems that might be associated with it (or don't take the chance and throw it out). | ||

Have you taken your favorite weed and turned it into hash? Or are you referring to hash you have bought? The only way to really judge hash vs weed is to smoke weed and hash from the same strain/plant. | ||

Haven't tried any before and we can get our hands on one "portion" (i.e., quantity intended for one person - no idea about weight since it's a 'friend-of-a-friend' kind of deal, the source is more than reliable though, so quality wise I'm not too worried). High demand / low supply ftw. There's three of us however, and we kinda want to split that up - is there any sense in doing it, or are we just wasting our time? Also, should I expect people to start fucking up with being loud and such, or is it (in theory, at least) fine to just chill at my place, without having to interact with my angry neighbours? | ||
