I've seen Sig's speedruns at least a dozen times, and I'm always impressed at how the run still changes and more glitches are still being found. That game crash was unexpected too haha.

I remember for AGDQ14 there was a statistics site which drew graphs depicting the amount of viewers and the amount of donations over time. Was nice to see which games garnered the most attention. Is there anything similar for this years SGDQ?

I wonder if the Save/Kill animals for Super Metroid is going to make more than it did at AGDQ. It's already at ~52k and it finished at ~67k at AGDQ. It's also so crazy how much that incentive makes at each 'GDQ.

so you need to have the coin purse and also that one special pokemon in slot 4 with the move Return as first move to execute a code you have written down as the names of your boxes?

A very silly question: do you think it could be possible that Japanese developers intentionally tend to localize their games so that they run a bit slower, so that speedrunners all showcase the original Japanese versions? xD Okay, that probably doesn't even make sense.

The biggest difference is typically the amount of text to scroll through. So, to answer your question, yes. The inventors the Japanese character system did have speedrunning in mind.

Didn't word it well, but that's what I meant - the text scrolling.

edit: Ah... right. Japanese uses lower number of characters for the same text, because they are syllables and even whole words. Didn't think of that at all, thanks!
