Twitch chat is genuinely the worst place on the internet I think you got it wrong. Everyone knows that the twitch chat is just emotions coming out in a flow, it's nonsense and sense blended together. It's freedom. If you want a genuine discussion you either talk here on TL or in the IRC, which has been the place for real chat since AGDQ started. Edit: And the bid war they started and then changed was fucking silly. People want the free chat and yet they diss us!

Twitch chat is genuinely the worst place on the internet Ehh, only because people with bad shit to say can occupy many lines with their ASCII stuff they get instabanned for anyways. Otherwise it's usually harmless emote spamming or whatever. If you took an actual crowd of 50,000 people you'd probably have the same ratio of complete d-bags to normal people, it's just that twitch chat is a forum where their voice might actually be seen for a split second, and there's security in them knowing that nobody else in the crowd will recognize them for it anywhere other than in the mob. I'm okay with freeing the chat. I haven't seen it being awful yet, when it was free.

I'm glad you had to pay for it this time. I'm one of the subscribers, did it because I never see any ads, and within a few minutes of reading the sub chat there were still tasteless jokes calling the non-sub chat "cancer" and trains of emotes (honestly, the BibleThumps following every donation reading story really rubs me the wrong way, but that's just me). Both just occur on a much smaller scale, so it doesn't feel like spam.

Twitch chat is oftentimes pretty bad, but subscriber chat wasn't exactly a tremendous improvement either with people riding their high horses lamenting how awful chat was imminently going to become. If the money's going toward a good cause, why act so aggrieved? And maybe people should be paying more attention to the stream in the first place, rather than the chat -- the whole drama over the freechat incentive was a huge disservice to the runner, since no one talked a whit about the stream but rather how they were about to lose their precious sub-only chat. Maybe people should be refocus on what the event is supposed to be about in the first place -- enjoying amazing speedruns and donating to a great cause.

I'm sure the sub only chat doesn't change much in the end, but it's way easier to moderate if someone keeps saying utterly stupid stuff. As long as someone is actually moderating..

As long as someone is actually moderating.. Those people aren't getting moderated, from what I can tell. It's generally accepted. Yes, the instigators are really easy to spot and time out, but these passive aggressive comments constantly creep in like clockwork. A few of the subs were not okay with said cancer "jokes", but it didn't matter and nobody else seemed to care (some laughed at them). Sub chat is not a better experience on the whole because there's always going to be a few bad eggs, except now you can actually sit there and read what they say before you put them on your Ignore list. I'm mostly responding because of how bitter your previous post was. I'll leave it at this.

They had it beside the shooters in arcades, with 2 keyboards instead of guns. Also blueglass's laugh is making this run amazing

Fuck all the chats cause Twitch chat is awful like 99% of the time. It most likely will, just as most people still remember the Mirrored incident.
