Don't fool yourself, not even 20k viewers for the world championship. Dead game!

On a serious note, that's really cool. Btw can somebody tell me how common draws are on that level? How often do check mates happen?
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

It seems weird to me that there are perfectly natural looking moves that are also favored by the engine evaluation that are not played.
Well, now I tell you, I never seen good come o' goodness yet. Him as strikes first is my fancy; dead men don't bite; them's my views--amen, so be it.

In such a world championship series,
60%-80% draws
0,00% checkmates.

Around 50% of games are drawn. Checkmates never happen on the board since if it's inevitable, players will see it well ahead and resign. Checkmating attacks do happen though.

edit: and yeah, the draw rate's usually higher in a wc match
On a purely personal note, I'd like to show Yellow the beauty of infinitely repeating Starcraft 2 bunkers. -Boxer

Are the players allowed to use this move simulation thing the commentator does? Or is it all in the head?

Yeah the twitch guy also seems to know his stuff. But I can recommend http://chennai2013.fide.com/anand-carlsen-video-with-commentary/ , the have 2 commentators analysing the game and simulating moves. It's also cool to see the players thinking, walking around etc.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.
