I always had eye twitches from eye strain from the monitor, but I've been using this, and I no longer have eye twitches, defiantly recommend for the sensitive eyed.

Set it at 4200 at night now, the default was way to orange for me.
Thx, forgot about this.

Edit: Is there any way to apply this also to my 2nd monitor?

Just wanted to report back for all they people saying that they hate it:
After now 4 days(rather nights) of using this i´ve gone down from 4200 to now 3400 and find myself even considering to expand the rate to go even further down into orange.
You get so used to it that i really find 4200 blinding bright now, while at first that was the maximum i could bare.

TL;DR: Awesome, TRY IT at least for a couple of days. And use slow mode.

P.S. I guess there´s no way to use this on my 2nd monitor as well?

It worked on my second monitor by default. My config is two monitors connected to one video card. It may be different if you have one monitor each on two video cards (not in xfire/sli).

Hm, no, i only have one card...
Maybe it´s because i´m using Ultramon to have a taskbar on my 2nd? Going to take a look once more.

Edit: Still clueless, F.A.Q. page didn´t say anything about 2nd monitors at all...
R1CH, HALP please.
Any ideas are very appreciated.

Yep, it should work on multiple monitors automatically (works on 3 monitors here), be it on one or two card

It's possible it conflicts with ultramon, have you tried disabling ultramon just once to see if that's the reason ?

maybe if you're not allergic to the command line you could try and see if redshift works better (quite unlikely on windows since they seem to use the same method to apply color change though)

Nope, still not working.... :/
I use a pretty old LCD monitor as my 2nd and it´s connected via DVI/HDMI- adapter to my GTX 460 V2.
Could it be because of the adapter?

I use a DVI/VGA converter on both my outputs and it works fine for me.

I have been using this program for about 3 years now, gaming hardcore, overclocking, etc and it has given me no problems... I recommend it very, very highly.

edit: If your tint looks too yellow/manila, go into the options and adjust it how you like. It changes at different times throughout the day.

Agreed, I also feel this hurts my eyes more than just staring at my computer screen normally does.

With the release of a public jailbreak for iOS, there is an updated (beta) version of f.lux for iOS that seems to work (at least it does for me) !

Can I somehow set my own schedule? any alternatives to this program?

I would like to set my own fixed times instead of where the sun happen to be at this specific place at this time of year.

My googlefu letting me down.

The only alternative I know of would be redshift (which I talked about a bit earlier)
Then, using a combination of cron jobs (scheduled tasks if you're on windows) and the use of the -O parameter (oneshot, meaning "put it at this temp and don't do anything afterwards") it should work pretty well

I don't think f.lux features a CLI on windows so you probably do such a thing with f.lux on windows

It takes some time to get used to but after you get used to it you don't want to go back anymore.

Looks like they literally added iOS 7 support an hour after I wrote my comment.

When I first opened that link it had a warning sign which said it doesnt support iOS 7 and that it would make your screen have weird colors. That warning sign is not there anymore.

This makes me happy.

I am unable to find f.lux in Cydia. When I type it in search bar all that comes out is "f.lux toggle" app which I am unable to install. I'm guessing you need f.lux itself before installing that toggle app.

Also when I press "more from this developer" nothing happens and my request just times out. Does anyone else have this problem? Am I missing something? I want this so bad on my iphone, help please :/

EDIT: I am a jailbreaking noob. Apparently you need to add justgetflux.com/cydia to your Sources in Cydia so you can search for the app properly. I think I got it working now hooray.

I noticed with my new glasses i got they have bought out some better "blue screen" protection. It cost me an extra £60 but it is worth it, basically my vision onto computer screens now is exactly like it would be if Flux is on it.
So i guess if you need some new glasses soon you can get flux built in!

If not, use this program

Apologies for bumping a semi-old thread, but its SO helpful to people!

Also, I realized that if you use HDMI-out on your PC(like I do to watch movies on my big TV), you should turn off F.Lux or it will mess with the colors

awesome program otherwise, my eyes have never felt better!
