there was one where this guy would come home and his roommate would be sitting reading a book in the middle of the floor in their room (studio, just one room, with everything in it) with shit smeared all over the walls and beds and desks, like smelly, brown, streaky shit literally everywhere, and his roommate would just sit there and act like nothing was wrong | ||

I used to be really homophobic until this summer when I started hanging out with this dude at work and found out he was gay after a while. He was really cool, always positive, never hit on me or even gave the slightest hint that he was gay. Now that I think about it, he didn't even advertise that he was gay or make a big deal about it. The only reason we found out was when his boyfriend came in to work one day to see him. When everyone asked him about it, he just shrugged his shoulders and acted like it was normal. Of course, this has nothing to do with actually living with a gay guy, but it does show that if you get to know them, they can be really good friends. As for living in the dorms, if your college is anything like mine, I highly doubt you'll be spending more than half the nights of the week in your own dorm room anyways. | ||

Generally, gay guys touch straight guys (in "neutral" ways too) less than straight guys touch straight guys (man hug, pat on back, etc.). They're sensitive to that kind of issue and wouldn't presume. Now, you may have an extremely annoying type of homosexual to deal with, but you could just as easily have an extremely annoying straight roommate--in any case, you don't know yet. I would definitely set some rules for what goes on in the room, though. You might want to agree that the room is a no sex zone--you probably don't want to be bothered with gay sex a couple feet away while you're trying to sleep, and you can find somewhere else to have your own. That is, if you're adverse to gay sex. Anyway, I think this is going to be a lot less big or memorable of a deal than you think. | ||

The point is, who he fucks is not everything about him. I used to live close to Mora, and we would hang out and play SC. I didn't think about him being gay, I just played SC and hung out with a friend. I think you probably got lucky (no pun intended) by having a gay roommate. | ||

SET CONCRETE RULES ABOUT EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING when to sleep, sex yes or no, etcetc ANYTHING that comes to mind, BEFORE it happens. It might be good if pple would mention what sort of room rules you guys have used in the past. for us, it was "no shoes" | ||
