Why would Magnus of all people ever offer a draw with this position? After time control sure but Fabi with less than 10min remaining?!

Odd!?!??!!? fabi was under tremendous time pressure, magnus was in a better position. he had to play the correct move with only a few minutes to calculate/find them, what did magnus have to lose by playing out the position for the next 9 moves until the next time control was reached? where is the killer instinct of the world champ???? unbelievable still so disappointed by this

Maybe it'd end up being a good thing for him if he actually lost the WC title. Take a bit of pressure off, refocus on chess instead of your legacy. Losing to Anand definitely helped Kramnik's game (or at least fun levels) a lot. Then again, we've even had rumours Carlsen might think about retiring if he lost, so who knows.

shit happens, he'll have to live with. you, coming up with: 'but i was offended by it', 'he felt short of my expectations' or 'but i was deceived(by my own delusions)' is just ... come on, grow up. Kasparov these days is just a politician, in it to get more followers.

This was two World Cup football teams sitting down on the pitch in overtime, refusing to play the game out but rather take it to penalties. You must be new to sports if you can't see why this doesn't sit too well with the viewers.

The tiebreakers shouldn’t be a strategy, they should be a last resort for deadlocked games where you just have to ultimately have a winner without resorting to having to play 48 games in a row. This was sad day for chess.

the only thing you might think you have on them is the money you directly or indirectly support them with, and if they tell you 'fuck your money', you're done; you indignation has no power(moral or legal) to do anything. you are not the chess, so when you're sad, the chess doesn't care. stop being offended because the world doesn't spin based on your assumptions. (once you get that, you can start talking about a middle ground(as Kramnik?) else just get out because in any negotiations here, you'll kill the game for your entertainment)

Actually if you want to compare it to football terms yesterday's draw offer was more like: Carlsens 11 players vs 10 players of Fabi with a whole halftime (45min) to go and Carlsens team says "nahh we'd rather go to penalties than to try to win vs 10 men" And no one does that in football.
