But it's better to play it out forever than to offer a draw and find out after the game that he had a clear win. he knew that the RN v R ending was a total draw. No win there. But Carlsen is a little sadistic, it's why I like him ![]()

marvellosity, are you the guy who comments on ChessTempo problem solutions frequently? There's someone with your nick having good insight about them, I figured it might be you...

There's an underappreciated technique in live games where you transfer your bishop to the right colour and then win using basic endgame technique. edit: the trick is to use long, almost-diagonal moves

Sometimes, he would pretend to play a serious game only to sneak in as many illegal moves as possible to check if his student were aware. Almost causing some heart attacks on the way.

Unfortunately I'm too lazy to think these days, so my Standard rating is really low, because I treat it like blitz. Unsurprisingly my blitz rating on there is markedly higher, where just moving without thinking pays dividends much more :p Standard Rating: 1867.8 (RD: 39.45) (Best Active Rating: 2628 Worst Active Rating: 1640) Active Rank: 1101/12503 (Better than: 91.2% Best Active: 1 Worst Active: 3693) Blitz Rating: 2166.7 (RD: 139.75) (Best Active Rating: 2809 Worst Active Rating: 1945) Active Rank: Not Active/2162 (Best Active: 1 Worst Active: 164) And blitz ratings are usually relatively lower... :/
