How am I trolling? I explicitly asked for a reasonable position the EU could hold and you wouldn´t deliver. You wrote a LOT but nothing of it was a reasonable position but instead an explanation how the EU could not have a reasonable position.

But please, do point out how my TDLR misrepresented your position. I´m also curious where that 200 billion number comes from, until there is a citation I´ll asume it comes from the same place your other facts are from.

The EU can either favor economic pragmatism and seek cut a deal that minimizes disruption to current business ties or it can favor political considerations and make a last ditch effort to salvage a dying principle by attempting to show Britain who's really in charge. They chose the latter.

Your so-called summary is such a fucking terrible strawman that I hardly know where I would even start. And given your troll attitude I don't see it as worth the effort.
History will sooner or later sweep the European Union away without mercy.

Dude you're so delusional that you live in your own little world. If the EU was 'dying', it wouldn't be toughening its position against the UK right now. It would be desperate. Unfortunately (for you), this isn't the case.

Yes, I'm sure if you say utter BS enough time it will become true.

You are joking right? He is American in the US thread, Russian in the EU thread, and he must have said he voted for brexit or otherwise insinuated that "we" voted to leave the EU at least three times here. One time in the US thread he basically decided he lived in the UK when they were discussing Brexit. Admittedly, there's no real reason why all three can't be true, but I am sure that he at the very least is does not have British voting rights. His arguments are spurious and mainly consists of bullshit about the EU dying instead of actual engagement, So yeah, I am pretty tired of it, and if I am to appear to be passing personal jibes so be it. I am not sure that you, bardtown, who regularily posts random crap like Theresa May saving the Union or random economic figures and unsourced crap, and who regularily insults others by calling them idiots or whatnot whenever someone disagrees with you should be pointing fingers at all.

I'm a Russian living in the US. Neither Russia nor the US would be a fully fitting tag to have. So I simply don't have one.

If you aren't sure you are always free to ask. Most other people here travel around enough that their country tags aren't fully satisfactory either. The alternative of course is to go all "big fat phony" as a result of your own inability to ask for clarification if something isn't entirely clear. But it's not exactly a secret.

It´s all about context. This forum has a comperativly anectodal arguing culture - hardly anyone asks for or provides citations. But that also means that someone who neither lives nor was born in the EU or Britain has very little credibility when talking about them without citations.
Why should anyone believe you when you talk about the direction of the EU and the perception of it by it´s citizens?

Pretty sure we cashed all that in when we dragged NATO into Iraq based on lies and bullshit. But hey, keep advocating to go back to the glory days of nationalism and sovereignty. That only lead to the two largest wars in human history, imperialism and a lot of other things we collective decided were pretty bad. But we are so much smarter now.

Plus no one is alive who remembers pre-ww2 times very well, so we are primed to avoid making the same mistakes again.

It's cool you try to help your Brexit buddy, but it doesn't seem he lived in the European Union to know much. How can you support Brexit when you don't know what it is to live in the European Union?

It might bear mentioning now that knowledge of history and study of current event articles give you enough to comment on world events. The political and economic entity known as the EU is deserving of informed discussion from all across the world, and not just from people living under its dictates. Now, if you have specifics that are somehow unknown except for those actually living in Brussels, or UK, or Bulgaria, you share the context and reasoning.

Twenty years ago today Britain celebrated an election victory which brought the sparkling hope of New Labour and the youngest Prime Minister in a century.

It seemed anything was possible and, as the soundtrack to the party’s election campaign promised, things really could only get better.

In today’s Daily Mirror Tony Blair marks the anniversary of his epic 1997 landslide victory over John Major – with the extraordinary revelation he is returning to UK politics .

For a man who sparked huge anger – revulsion even – over his decision to follow America into war in Iraq, it is a bold move.

“This Brexit thing has given me a direct motivation to get more involved in the politics,” he passionately declares. “You need to get your hands dirty and I will.”

Thoughts from any Brits here?
History will sooner or later sweep the European Union away without mercy.

The problem for Blair is that there's nowhere really for him to go. He can find friends with remain tories, and lib dems, and some labour MPs, but really the public hates him so appealing to the public won't help.
I'm assuming he's talking about using whatever political influence he has left to try and pull some strings in favour of a liberal, remain based cross party thing, whatever that turns out to be. He certainly isn't going to be able to do anything by speaking to the public, he is too discredited after his lies led us to war.

Either way its not going to help people campaigning against Brexit to have a proven liar join their side.

This. As someone who wants a proper Brexit I'm very happy he's on the Remain side.

Not everything is written in my opinion. News channels don't tell you everything. You have to experience it, but I'm sure you'd rather rely on your source of information.

Tony Blair has been "returning" to British politics for years, with no real results. He is a political non-entity with currently no political power. Even Blairites avoid associating with him publicly. Blair would destroy the Labour party if he tries to rejoin it publicly.
