That interview was terrible, in my opinion. Owen is too young to be a dinosaur, but I just listened to two dinosaurs talking for 40 minutes. They have no idea what is going on.

Agreed. So much waffling and interrupting each other. It was unwatchable. Just a load of flailing around. If that is what labour is about, then no wonder they're set up for a historic loss.

Some Labour MP has no idea what's up. She just repeats rigged election without anything to back it up. It's sad such people get elected not just in the UK.

I hate the fact that people like that end up representing my views.

It can't be a coincidence that all these people are London MPs. Dawn Butler, Jeremy Corbyn, Diane Abbott, Emily Thornberry, John McDonnell, etc.

Well I think it does matter when they're posturing as anti-establishment revolutionaries that represent the working man. It's a very modern parody.

Historically speaking, labour represents the "working man" working and living in cities. Those living in small picturesque villages tend to be well off compared to those in the city.

Towns and cities, yes, but London is a world apart from, say, Middlesbrough or Harwich. They don't represent these people at all any more.

Why is this so? I don't live in city anymore because of my job, but I still earn a decent salary considering my age and education. If anything, the "working man" would want to spend less money so they can have more for themselves, while the unemployed people would want more money for them. Why would a working man vote for Labour then? Of course, NHS is nice. Paid leave and maternal leave are also nice, but that's about it.

Edit: Yeah, also cheaper higher education. However, left wing isn't necessarily known for spending money well in the long run.

Is this the most overwhelming Conservative win? When were they the strongest in general election?

They've been around for a long time and I think they've had some convincing results. You can bet that the day after the election all the news articles will tell us when the last result this good was, if ever. I wonder what they would need to do to lose?

JC is offering 4 new national holidays though. That almost feels like bribery. I bet they won't be offering that at the next election. That's the kind of thing that could swing an election normally. I mean once the public get given 4 new holidays I pity the government that tries to take them back.

Thatcher years they hit 53% 62% and 58%. Whats crazy is that cameron could have been looking at a comfortable fourth term at this rate if he could have made some sort of brexit deal.

I don't think Cameron could have continued, really. His managerial approach to the EU renegotiation before the referendum made it clear that he was not the man to do the Brexit negotiations, and he alienated half his party and half the country during the campaign. He had planned to step down during this parliament, anyway.

Didn't he announce that he wouldn't try to get a third term?

Yeah but the idea is that he might have been able to get a fourth with these numbers.

These numbers are a result of instability. Conservative numbers go up as uncertainty goes up, Labour when stability goes up. Cameron leaving was a part of the instability.

That Scotland poll is crazy. I think SNP voters are as scared of a coalition with Corbyn as Labour voters are of a coalition with the SNP.
