I live about 6 blocks from a couple mandatory evac locations, but three of the houses I work/worked on back on to the elbow river... meaning that their main floors are quite probably hanging out underwater right now. A company I used to work for also had one of their storage containers picked up by the flood and swept into a bridge downstream. Aside from it being full of work materials and tools, it's also worrying people for the safety of the bridge.

Looks like it's drying up now, but it definitely looks like I'll be busy for fair chunks of next week helping people clean up messes this flood is going to leave behind :/

Best wishes to everyone affected. Friend of mine lost nearly everything he had in the floods in south germany, helped him the last weekend to sort out the ruins of his life so yeah... i'm really sad this happens elsewhere too :/

You know I had heard about it but I really didn't know how bad it was until I checked this out. Wow... this is unbelievable. How much rain did you guys get in total?

How has the weather been/going to be? Hopefully sunnier, drier, and windy.

About a years worth of rain as fallen within a week in Calgary. All of Alberta has been been rained on for all 24 days. The is by far the wettest June in history.

I live in Edmonton and I can see the North Saskatchewan River raising but its nowhere near the levels of the Bow and Elbow rivers.

I believe last year farmers in the province received funding from the government too help pay for water due to the lack of rain and were saying they hope next year they get more rain. I think they may be wishing they didn't ask for it lol.

Well, looks like the rain is over now, and everyone I know is fine. Now we have a new flood going on, a flood of volunteers donating their money and time to clean up the damages.
