Haha, I was thinking the same thing. They probably make over $130 per sucker who buys those knives at the interview. Then they make extra by selling overpriced knives to the poor sap's family members who would never buy them otherwise. It's like a scam, but legal ![]() I think people who say they enjoy their knives are just in denial of the fact that they got ripped off for a generic knife ![]() On June 12 2007 20:46 HappyFeetO_O wrote: I never sold any of the big $1000 kits of anything A $1000 "kit" of knives? For a senior in high school that was fine, all I wanted to do was go to the movies with friends and other shit like that. I sold to all my friends parents and stuff, lol. I never sold any of the big $1000 kits of anything, and I tried to not rip people off too badly or be a dick in pressuring sales. As hotbid said, though, most sales ARE definitely closed because the person buying it wants to help you (the high schooler) out, which is why this company targets high schoolers as salepersons.I quit because the job sucked ass, and I only took it cause I needed a source of small cash for summer. But your friends' parents and stuff essentially paid for your paycheck while you ripped them off.

As many have said the knives are not that bad, and as I said I only sold in low numbers, none of the useless large sets. Anyways if you're going to go into business or retail or anything remotely sales-related you better get used to "ripping off" since it's called "profit." This was more of a "ripoff" than most though, but I don't feel bad considering the people buying the knives were buying them purposely to help me out. At least they got a knife for their niceness.

They just use you to try to sell the knives to your family and friends. They simply recruit teens (and college students) that are struggling for money so they can abuse them by marketing the knives to their employees. If you work for vector, you're just a tool.

SO the company uses students as a vector to get the knives to different people. Come to think of it they're a genius company in term of exploiting the nature of human, probably getting alot of money out of it while damaging all the reputation of direct sales. ~~

That's how they make money. Instead of advertising it to random people, they try to use the pressure between family/friends to sell their goods. My brain's rather fried right now, so I can't type as coherently as I normally do. I should have elaborated on this more. And I have no clue how the bottom quote backs up your assertion that I'm a tool.
