I recently got a job by a company called "vector marketing". It's a fairly large corporation here in the united states and canada. I did a "group" interview and recieved a position there. Right from the start it didn't feel right. They lied to me on the phone (claiming a rate of 15$ an hour when in reality it was 15$ per customer appointment.) They were very unclear about the nature of their work and seemed to be kind of misleading. I walked into the first day of training into a crummy office rental with music blaring. I was greeted by upbeat employees, employees that looked... just too upbeat. During the "training" (aka brainwashing) the district manager tried to make us believe what a great opportunity this was, and that the knives (cutco) we were selling were the greatest thing in the world. He worshipped these knives, tried to make us believe they would solve all the world's problems or some shit.
Well, after the first surreal day in the place, I knew something was odd, so I did a background check on it at my favorite site, wikipedia. Didn't sound too promising. I found out there that there was a site called SAVE, students against vector enterprises. Reading some of the shit brought back memories of my training. The thing these people were saying mirrored my first day in the company. I just finished my last day of "training" and am now selling knives. I think I should just quit this job because i realize their business practices are pretty unethical by today's standards, but I really don't want to give up on it JUST yet. A lot of college studends have made it into quite a lucrative career, so i want to see if i can get in on that opportunity.
If anyone has ever had a job with this company, please post back. I want to hear your experiences.

Aggresive sales. I did it for a few days direct sales as my first job and decided it stinks. It was too disgusting. Bunch of idiots selling their dignity.
To start with the name vectormarketing doesn't make sence. Yeah if you have to put money in it yourself it's fishy.

hahaha, I also did apply at this job. When I called them and asked they said I would be stocking soda machines. When me and my girlfriend got there, there was like 10 people in the room with us and they did stupid demonstrations. I got to cut the rope btw. In the beginning of the interview the lady was saying how only few would get hired, blah blah. Well me and my girlfriend got offered a job. So much for certain people. I left and never went back, it's stupid as fuck.

No, it was real clean. Looked very professional. Some of the people that were working there, I had seen from highschool. A lot of which were in DECA. So maybe you can make something out of it. I personally would not like to sell knives, or worry about getting buyers. I also didn't trust the company, they lied to me already and I didn't want to deal with bullshit.

There are lots of companies like this. I mean the unethical part of the work, selling vacation packs, houses and an infinite etc. It all depends on the value you give to your work. Personally i wouldnt do it, but its your choice matt. The power is yours.

I was interviewed and hired, but never showed up for training. I got a bad feeling from the start and decided against it.

I worked for them just long enough to get the knives cheap and quit. If you want to go into sales it can be good experience. Personally I hate sales with a passion, it feels like selling your soul. My friends brother (32) started with vector, he sales health insurance now, has a 4 million dollar home and makes well over 6 figures.

If your picking strawberries, to make more money you must pick faster.
To sell more knives, you have to exploit the gulliable. Most honest sales take a while or an informed customer.

HAHHAHAHAHAHHA Omg i had this experience.
I was like leet right and got hired but I knew my bullshit meter was pinging like crazy and just walked out the office. (During the group interview or whatever, i gave the bullshit response, bullshit everything and thats how I knew this company is crap). -Ask your self, how are you gonna make money? Are you seriously gonna go into every home sell knives? thats borderline cold calling, and i hated cold calling (i sold paint). Seriously quit right now.
Cut your losses and apply at a hotel (its the best seriously mad tips). If you're saying to your self "I should try it out see where its going" its like saying :
"Im gonna try this company where you already have doubts, so I can waste more time with my working career"
