This will end when SK / US / UN say something like:
"in order to mantain the peace in the region the (no NK allys) will avoid further military practice (or whatever make NK angry) for the sake of humanity..."
then NK leaders, Kim Jong Un and the military, will say to their people that the empire surrender to their power and enforce their leadership for 100 years

"For the sake of humanity"... I really don't think we're the ones to use those words. I think it actually takes away from our humanity that we as a race have allowed over 20 million people to live for several decades under an oppressive regime that fails to provide them with the food they need so that they are several inches shorter, on average, than their genetically similar brothers to the south and regularly have huge famines that kill off a part of the population. It takes away from our humanity that we as a race, after having seen the terrors of concentration camps, have allowed similar concentration camps to exist for decades in that country, knowing full well the horrors that go on there. It takes away from our humanity that for the sake of our petty geopolitical quarrels, the situation has remained unchanged and no real progress has been made for decades.
If the North Korean population knew just how short the straw that's been pulled for them is, and if they knew how well off almost all of the rest of the world is in comparison, then they could say that they starve, get tortured and die for the sake of the rest of humanity. But if it were truly for the sake of our humanity as a whole, we'd have put aside our differences and made an end to the Kim regime long ago. Regrettably, it's all too human to let others suffer so that we can be better off, but that's not "for the sake of humanity", that's "for the sake of myself", and that's what the UN could say: "For the sake of us rich and lucky guys, let the Kims commit all sort of atrocities uninterrupted, so that we don't have to get involved".
From what i've read the NK military and others do not respect the son Kim and there's a bit of in-house chaos, so all of these threats of aggression lately are so Kim can try to wrangle in his military/reputation at home as some "glorious leader" to gain more respect within NK.

ya, this is the most accepted theory among experts, some kind of internal power struggle and kim is doing this to try to maintain power. It's quite bad overall among the ranks of the "glorious leaders" in NK. at least 3 high generals who shares the overall command of the NK army has mysteriously vanished or died the over the past 5 months.
We can confirm that the British Embassy in Pyongyang received a communication from the North Korean government this morning. It said that the North Korean government would be unable to guarantee the safety of embassies and international organisations in the country in the event of conflict from April 10.
According to German news agency (dpa) the German embassy received something similar. That we should clear the embassy. Though we dont have a date.
Brazilian embassy received the same thing. They say the embassies who intend on removing their diplomats from NK should send a communication until April 10th. Not sure what happens after that date.

Agreed. This is what I think will happen. They just don't have any real way to threaten us and have us take it seriously.
i coulda made a video more aesthetically stunning 10 years ago. using windows movie maker. wat
Considering North Korea is basically going through what was the early 90's for the West in terms of tech, it's really not all that surprising. Some scenes in it actually looked like Star Wars. It was pretty funny. KJU probably watched Star Wars and told them to make a propaganda vid that looks like it
When i first heard about the threaths from north korea i didn't think that it was that serious, but now that they are actually setting up missiles ready for launch makes me think it's a bit more serious than that.

I wonder if he was a fan of Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker.

Considering the North Koreans have nuclear weapons and are pretty crazy i sincerly doubt that . I don't think they'd be afraid to fire everything they have as last resort at the South and probably even their own soil . Thats something nobody would want especially the ally's around North Korea. Not to mention China thats already less than pleased with whats transpiring with NK .
Is there any educated estimate to how many warheads the DPRK has? They've been doing tests for a few years but their reactor has been shut down for the last 3. It seems unlikely to me that they'd have any sort of stockpile but thats nothing more than wild speculation

apparently enough for 12 warheads using uranium rather than plutonium
They're probably going to launch a missile into the sea, call it a test, and they'll have a second missile set up to dissuade a response attack. I'm just waiting to see "breaking news" pop up on my browser saying N. Korea launched one of the missiles.

Why would people from the South(or who have escaped to the south) want to go back to the North? Don't they face horrible punishments for defecting in the first place?
Thats the key question, maybe he has heard something from the North and doesn't want to be in the south incase of war, or maybe hes completely mad.
What? Why can't you guys just read a bit on North Korea before you go around discussing nonsense.
A huge percentage of the north koreans that get out of NK actually go back. The usual reasons are that they don't like the new life in South Korea etc. Too hard for them to adapt also missing their family.
With such a huge number that goes back to NK after leaving or "fleeing" I doubt there would be any horrible punishments.
I was under the impression that there was brutal treatment if you ran away and got caught actually i just happen to watch a video on it yesterday.
There's a documentation about Shin Dong-hyuk . He was born and grew up in a North Korean internment and concentration camp. The only kown person that escaped from such a camp and later his country.
It's a movie from a german movie maker camp 14 total control zone . It's not released on DVD yet and was only shown in a few selected cinemas a few months ago but there's trailer and other stuff about this and him.
The movie also includes interviews with 2 of the wardens from these kinds of camps. Pretty extreme stuff.
