North korea going nuts one week after dennis rodmans visit. This cant be coincidence lol.
China is called to the rescue, they have to keep north korea under control. Leaders in china dont want to risk their newly earned capitalist wealth so they will do everything they can. It is a bit risky, when north korea feels it cant rely on its natural aly china annymore they might do something desperate. Still think its rethoric and nothing more, postponing the inevitable. Korean unification will happen within 1 decade.

Feeding your people is a priority over threatning superpowers at least in my opinion, but NK is NK.

South Korea gots 3/3 upgrades + all other upgrades and North Korea is not upgraded and don't even got combat shields or stim and they are supply capped. I don't see how North Korea makes a chance.

South Korea's main command center, supply, tech and production are all in close range of NK's gigantic siege tank line.

yeah but 1 nuke can't take out the entire army + mineral line. NK would only have 1-2 nukes tops.

It's not Starcraft. 1 nuke would make both koreas inhabitable.

One plutonium tipped missile (it doesn't even have to be an ICBM since it's a close range shot so it requires much less technology) would pretty much destroy most everything in the seoul area all the way around SK it would probably spill over to NK also.

Yes...the joke was funny untill you stated the obvious.
North korea's goverment is really fucking stupid, what do they hope to gain out of this? Sure they can launch a nuke or two and kill millions of innocent people, then the rest of the world will just march in and gun them down, its futile.
Its like they have small man syndrome and are constantly trying to flex their muscles to impress when everyone views them as pathetic because of it.
Needs to fucking stop.

This. Direct hit to say Seoul would be devastating obviously, but its not even close to affecting entire penisula.

Why is anyone but the military paying any attention at NK ? It's pretty obvious at this point that they are a lost cause..

It's all diplomacy. Nk fires a missile, increases tensions and makes the US nervous about destabilization and maintaining its power/influence in the region. A month later nk will ask for something small in exchange for scaling back their nuclear program, and the us will give it to them. More importantly, it's a way for nk leadership to show they aren't "weak" and maintain control internally.

Also, its important to note that China, Pyongyang's only major diplomatic ally, endorsed the latest UN resolution.
This makes the entire situation much less threatening.
I wouldn't want the US of A to fuck with China, I'm much too sheltered to thrive in a WWIII situation.
|
Oh darn, the UN condemned North Korea's actions, I guess they will just kick their feet at the dirt and walk home with their hands in their pockets... seriously the UN is such a waste..

Dont worry. We would not support the US against China anyway. We only honor alliances if it doenst cost us much nowadays.

they dont have a slightest chance in an open conflict with the South.. USA tolerates the country (for unknown reasons) so they can live for now, but if that changes, they're goners..
It's all about cost. Doing nothing (and just giving in just enough, with food aid mostly, to keep them relatively quiet) costs very little compared to getting rid of the regime. I have no doubt it could be done but the costs, both in human lives and in purely economical terms, would be absolutely massive as it stands right now.
