and i'm irritated as all fuck when i read this. first of all, before any of you say "who the fk r u lol u dont no rek" i've played starcraft for a while and i've played poker for a while, i've visited even this website for a while (it was only today that i registered though). i've read lots of rek posts here and at nohunters, played on bnet with him a long time ago, basically i've been around this whole sad community of sc and then poker players for a good, i dunno, 6-7 years. anyway, here's why i'm pissed: i can easily see myself in that kid's situation. how hard is it to imagine? if you've played online poker or high stakes poker for only a few years (which most of you surely have) how hard is it to put yourself in his shoes? i can see myself sitting down at a game way over my head with a bunch of older guys who i can barely understand and playing scared (not as scared as the ak hand) and probably shaking or having a red face. to some people thousands of dollars is a considerable amount of money, winning and losing thousands is kind of a big deal to us non-degenerate gamblers. some people don't have 50k swings, some people dont win tens of thousands of dollars in one night without cracking a smile. just because this kid doesn't have millions passing through his hands, because he isn't a professional poker player, because he isn't what is most commonly just another breed of degenerate gamblers with skills that allow them to accumulate money but never hold on to it, he doesn't deserve his profit? i can see this guy getting up after quadrupling his stack, probably thrilled, probably having no idea that he's in for a rough time or that he did anything remotely wrong...then for some random guy who could have easily been in his place a few years earlier to encourage a couple of what he would refer to as "gangsters" to go get their money back 'in the most manner way' (vomit), knowing theyre going to beat him up and then jokingly/haha FUNNY saying go 'kill' the guy. WOW. all of this justified by some unwritten code of poker honor and etiquette (ha) that was never explained, by the suggestion that said guy deserves what he gets because he bought in for half of the minimum and violated the rules that everyone agreed to break...bullshit oh, and then all this shit about the guy must be talking to his gay lover...ridiculous. it's like as soon as he saw a nervous white guy his age sit down he immediately chose to not respect him in the least bit. what's up with that? what can explain that other than being insecure about your own past? did rek see himself a few years earlier sitting down in that smoky parlor? regardless, its such obvious narcissism and plain evilness. the fact that he encouraged illegal and dangerous acts on some hapless guy just because he has problems with himself (why else would he care?) is sick and disturbing kill yourselves, etc ![]()

But, after you present your impressive "credientials" of being around the community for *gasp* 6-7 years, which you both freely insult and claim elite membership in, you make a string of retarded sentiments. You can see yourself sitting down in an illegal gambling den, not knowing the rules, language, culture, or ettiquette, and expect to trounce around like some babo foreigner? I hope for the sake of your families future generations that you never leave the english speaking world. Otherwise the precious bubble of "reality" you percieve the world from may burst at the point of a knife. I think that Rekrul is not sick and disturbing. A society that can raise and sustain numbnuts like you without feeding you to tigers is sick and disturbing. I would ban you but I think rekrul deserves that honour.
