Different people have different levels of empathy and reactions - it's not "first world problems" and it's rude to call it that. Just because YOU don't feel that way, you shouldn't insult another person's feelings. The cinema may be a more lax cinema, being not in a large city/town. Some of the more suburban theaters in NYC are very lax on security, and I would imagine that their staff were taxed by the amount of people seeing the grand opening. | ||

Aurora is hardly "not a large city/town." It's a fairly large suburb of Denver. And AFAIK, this theater had a history of security issues, which is no surprise in Aurora. I remember that the one time I had been there, several years ago, I saw at least one police officer. But if he found a way to get in through the emergency exit (theoretically impossible, but easier to do than it should be), their security measures don't mean a damn thing. | ||

Entering throuhg an emergency exit can be quite easy actually... [Architect here].... most only have a simple panic bar or delayed actuator.... Often times there is a small allen key device that goes into the frame and unlocks the door, allowing someone to enter directly from the outside. | ||

It's worth mentioning one of the first people interviewed by ch9 early this morning was a guy who said that when he went to MiB3 at that same theater previeously, they had at least 3 security guards working. No mention I can find anywhere yet if any were working during the attack, but I'd imagine it's probable. | ||

You missed the joke. It's a common joke to blame everything on 9gag because everyone thinks 9gag is a terrible website. That's beside the point of this thread though.
