My potentially stupid opinion as an Australian.
+ Show Spoiler +
As an Australian my opinion is both mostly uneducated and irrelevant, but for what it's worth if I could vote in this election it would be for Obama, from my point of view Obama hasn't been that bad of a president, it seems like a lot of shit he gets is about the current state of the economy, for which he is hardly to blame, as far as his decisions there have obviously been questionable ones like not pulling troops out of the middle east. I also dislike that when it comes to certain 'controversial' issues he seems either close minded or simple ignores them.
Then again his close-mindedness seems minor compared to that of Mitt Romney's who to me looks like he would make a terrible president, his judgements seems heavily based on his religion and he overall just seems a bit ..crazy? As far as choosing the lesser of two evils, the choice seems clear.

Right, damn those republicans for declaring war on Libya!

No. This is just another attempt by crazed conspiracy theorists to try prove that Obama wasn't born in the U.S. He was, this is a non-issue, and it's a shame it hasn't been put to rest yet.

It hasn't been put to rest yet because they only released his birth certificate online. They need to bring it to the courts so these people saying it was faked can see it in person. The only reason they are saying that it is inadmissible is because they are using a copy of the birth certificate downloaded from the government website, which is apparently not allowed. They need to hold a viewing of the actual document by multiple independent parties to end this.

Anyone can make a crappy online version of a birth certificate. Calling people crazy doesn't solve anything, especially when there is pretty good proof of the document being faked. Don't you think? At first I didn't give a shit and thought it was just the sore losers whining, now it's starting to look more and more suspicious. Your being sued in court man, bring your real birth certificate and this will end!
I am from Canada, eh!

This election is a walk-over. Obama won't lose unless something goes seriously wrong.
I'm more concerned about Congress.

This story is sourced back to a website, http://www.teapartytribune.com which on its front page includes stories that are attacking democratic leaders using photoshopped images and lies.

The story itself is one that is here: Source but in fact is nothing but text, with no video or audio proof and no sourcing by anyone you've heard of before visiting the site, so you'll just have to take the teaparty tribune's word that it is true.

He wants to try to violate the U.S. constitution by forcing people to buy healthcare, which, in my opinion, is absolutely criminal.
His approval rating is going up right now because the economy is slowly improving and because "he" killed Osama Bin Laden.
Obama's entire presidency has been a joke and it's time to end it before the punch line.

I agree with this. I don't see how his approval rating is so high, what has he actually accomplished during his term?

NATO isn't the US. Simple fact is Obama declared war on Libya without congressional approval dragging the US into ANOTHER middle east war, all to help the French who feared over their oil supply line.

Once Obamacare is declared unconstitutional, the most charitable answer will be nothing except bagging bin Laden.

This line of thinking is the sort of absurd right-wing tripe that I can't stand.

http://obamaachievements.org/list

This is a crowd-sourced compilation. It is not affiliated with any political party. You may argue that some of these things are not good, (although to broadly say none of them are is absurd) but this is a pretty complete list. There are references next to each entry. Do not try to pass this off as some biased piece of reporting.

Now, please repeat your statement on how Obama hasn't accomplished anything.

You do understand that it's not the president's job to balance the budget, don't you? That's Congress.

You do understand that Mitt Romney balanced budgets primarily by means of hostile corporate takeovers and mass layoffs, don't you? That's not particularly good for job growth.

Just making sure.

Yeah, it's not like presidents are required to approve budgets or other laws from Congress or anything for them to be effective. Also, I forgot that part of the job description of the governor of Massachusetts is to engage in hostile corporate takeovers. Apparently my civics classes were worse than yours.

Obviously Obama was never going to live up to his hype, but I still think he's a better choice than Romney. I don't really see a president coming in and drastically changing things up in these times. They'll promise all sorts of stuff to get there, but once they're inside the oval office, the template is too set and the people he or she needs to please too powerful & influential to do otherwise. Electing a president will be a choice between two evils for the foreseeable future. You just have to make your mind up on which one's the lesser.

OP's "discussion points" seems kind of very extremely biased.

Really, I'm going to vote Obama. He's been an above average president IMO but just looks bad because of all the expectations and hype people had for him. I

think the only Republican I would have voted for was Herman Cain. He was an idiot, but at least he was entertaining. Plus, unlike the rest of the scrubs, he knew he was an idiot and was willing to fix that and listen to other people. Gingrich is/was an ass, Santorum was a disorganized nut, Paul was unelectable, and Hunstman was almost a Democrat. Romney flip flops so much he's basically nothing except the rich guy image that he's allowed others to paint for him.

OP is horrendously biased toward Romney. Virtually every bullet point is anti-Obama/pro-Romney, and every single bullet point is presented as "fact" with zero sourcing (much less, credible sourcing).

I suggest closing this thread to allow for a more neutral thread to be posted. This is particularly misinforming for the non-US users who may think that this is a "factual" representation of the current situation.

i don't think this poll is going to be any less biased than the others, this community really isn't all that diverse.

I'm voting romney.
