Heck, even the BBC is telling us it was. No expert on either side wants to make the election sound too far apart because they dont want to repress turnout on either side.

Technically, it was Republican spinners and traditional pundits who were acting like it was hard to call it for Obama. The hilarious irony is that it's their actions that have made Nate Silver look like such hot stuff.

And I like it this way, anything to remove apathy (no matter how deserved, as I know for a fact my vote didn't matter) from the voting public.

If he's going to say that, I'd say wait a few days after today's election before replying.

It probably has more to do with all the Anti-Silver/polling is biased stuff from our side than him specifically. I wasn't all that impressed that he called 49 of 50 in 2008 either. Actually, the whole thing reminds me of the whole Sabrmetrics vs. Conventional Wisdom debate in baseball. The people with huge doubts about the polling are Joe Morgan. :D The difference is, that battle has already been won in politics. Analytics is a big, big deal in how campaigns are now run.

They're not really talking about the states in particular, they're just talking normal politics. No big live updates whatsoever. Someone just said that it looks like Obama will be reelected, and I just realized there are a good number of liberal pundits on that station.
