Thank you all for reading my long ass post. Take care! First of all, Freddie Wong will always be the #1 GH player in my <3 Second, I disagree with your sentiments here. This contest has nothing to do with getting exposure, or credibility, or anything else for these ladies. This contest is all about the sponsor Virgin Gaming finding some hot chick that they can use in their adverts with the hope that a bunch of stereotypical nerds will drool over them because they are a "gamer". It's demeaning, it's stupid, and frankly as a stereotypical nerd myself I find it rather annoying. Someone earlier brought up the infamous KellyMilkies photo shoot, same principle applies here. While I respect Anna Prosser and think she has done some amazing work for Esports, this contest isn't about rewarding her for that. It's about making an object out of her and using that to sell shit. Maybe the financial reward and exposure would be good for the individual who wins, but IMO would be a step backwards for women in this industry and in this community. Thus why Hot_Bid is the only rational vote; an absurd candidate for an absurd contest. And do you really think voting to get Hot_Bid to win a female competition is the correct way to do things? If anything, all it does is shows the immaturity of the Team Liquid community for even allowing such a thing to occur right under their nose. As I said: Hot_Bid is the only rational vote; an absurd candidate for an absurd contest. It's a funny and quaint way to protest the contest and show these companies that we are not all a bunch of drooling undersexed stereotypical nerds. If you find that immature, then so be it. However I can't bring my self to take this contest seriously, it's frankly an embarrassment. And frankly, if anyone deserves to be called out it's the misogynistic men who are out there voting for the women with the biggest tits and least clothes and encouraging this nonsense. Call me crazy, but that seems far less mature. You can do as you wish, vote for whomever you like. But don't get angry at us for not taking the contest seriously. You're ruining the contest for other women that are taking the competition seriously. If you have an issue with the contest then deal with it in the appropriate manner. What is occurring right now is no better than what occurs in immature shitty forums like 4chan. Regardless of not whether or not you agree/disagree with the premise of the competition, does not give you and other TL members a right to practically troll their competition in order to make a mockery of it. It won't even ruin the contest. If hot bid eventually wins, he'll just get removed and it will go to the second highest. I think what hot bid was pretty funny. It's a good way to mock the contest. I think TheToast is right. It only demonstrates the immaturity of the TL community of it supports this. Whether or not TheToast is right is not the point. The point is that the TL community is basically lowering itself onto the level of 4chan posters and groups like Anonymous who rig voting polls of Justin Beiber. Seriously, it's not funny. I think making fun of contests like... that isn't immature.
You keep bringing up that TL is like 4chan but it's obviously not true. Don't use exxageration to prove a point ;\. The point that mods don't allow memes/stuff like that already seperates it from 4chan where memes are created.

TL, knows what is best for the women of the planet.
As a previously posted pointed out, stop being a white knight and trying to tell what women can do and what they should be ashamed of. If a woman wants to express her sexuality through competitions like this, than it is their own choice.

As I've said before, this isn't sabotaging a competition.
This is making fun of a competition. It will take the mods 10 seconds to delete Hot Bid when they see he registered. No harm done. Competition continues as normal. It won't end up mattering.
(edit) Also being a white knight is defending women on the internet just because they're women. What he did isn't white knighting.

Any girl who takes something like this seriously deserves to have it ruined for them imo. TL, knows what is best for the women of the planet.
As I have pointed out half a dozen times before, this isn't just about women or female gamers. This is also about countering long held stereotypes of gamers as undersexed nerds. And several female gamers have commented in the past few pages with the same attitude. Either way, I've addressed just about every one of your objections in my previous posts, you either didn't read them or just are never going to give up this rather snobbish view of the situation so I will digress here.
However I think your accusations that the rest of us are "white-knighting" is completely asinine and rediculous. That's essentially what you are doing here. Can you honestly say, if this were a contest to find the hottest male pro-gamer in the world that you would have this same attitude if Aphrodite or flo entered the contest? Would you really accuse them of "ruining the contest" and being immature? Somehow I don't think you would be. You're the one white-knighting here. The women don't need protecting from Hot_Bid, and Hot_Bid isn't ruining the contest; that's utter nonsense.

You guys have to realize that the real winner is Maxim no matter how this turns out. Every time you go to their website to vote you generate ad revenue.
On April 07 2012 02:04 pellejohnson wrote: When did this turn into 4chan? Trolling random competitions like this is IMO just distasteful no matter what you think of them.
I expected more from TL... There's a reason 4chan trolls "random" competitions. It's a form of protest against competitions that just pick whoever has the most sex appeal instead of people who actually might make a difference in the community, and many times expose the organizers for the frauds they are.
Take the time 4chan voted a girl with Down's syndrome or something the winner of something. The organizers, instead of recognizing her as the winner, basically erased her votes.
Just because you don't see the meaning behind things doesn't mean it's a form of trolling or is distasteful.

Thats because Anna's Score + Hot_Bids score is made up of the same voters. You have less then 1/4th the voters Tradechat has.
And thats a good thing IMO because TL's community has no fucking clue whats good for gaming and whats not good for gaming.

What does this contest have anything being good or not good for gaming to do?
People take this way too seriously. You realize maxim(e?) will choose the winner they see fit. The only reason they are having people vote is to see on which girl they can make the most money from people buying or looking at the photoshoot and/or interview.
Hot_Bid isn't a girl hence he will never be picked, sadly, it would be fucking hilarious if he got to do a photoshoot.
I hope Hot_Bid wins.

It's just immature. I think making fun of contests like... that isn't immature. You keep bringing up that TL is like 4chan but it's obviously not true. Don't use exxageration to prove a point ;\. The point that mods don't allow memes/stuff like that already seperates it from 4chan where memes are created. And I think it's funny so speak for yourself It is when you try to directly sabotage a competition. I think you're taking yourself, and this competition, waaay too seriously.
Seriously.

Each eligible Semi-Finalist will be judged by editors of Sponsor (“Judges”) with no connection to the administration of the Contest. Entries will be judged based on originality, creativity, humor, telegenic presence, and adherence to Contest instructions (the “Judging Criteria”). Judges will select three (3) final contestants (each, a “Finalist” and together, the “Finalists”), which decisions shall be within the sole and absolute discretion of the Judges, and all such decisions shall be final.
These are the rules for the second round of the contest which will include the top 500 vote getters. I mean originality, creativity, humor, telegenic presence? Hot Bid has this in the bag, those traits basically describe him.

Let's enter Adrianna Lima, grab 100 or so votes and see if we get contacted by Maxim about winning this thing.
Shame this didn't coincide with Scarlett's rise to fame - I think most people / gamers would have genuinely got behind her. Would of been priceless too, imaging the perverted editors, photographers, costume people and customers of Maxim figuring out what to do about a teenage transexual winning.
