Is this a teaching thing? ^this. The article doesn't explain what's going on whatsoever...what is this even for?

I think they're looking for very high-level players that could become pro-gamers if they had extra support and didn't need to worry about living/ practice conditions. Just giving them that extra little nudge in hopes that the "almost pro-gamers" could get picked up by an actual pro-team with the help of Razer.

Their website just confirms my notions that this will be similar.

Like if you're a a DotA player, you only practice with AngeL? And who are the teammates? Or if you're a mid-GM SC2 player? Or is it just about giving them an environment where their living conditions are taken care of? That might be interesting.

If they want to make great SC2 players even better (so that they get picked up by pro-teams), then they're going to need to be trained by pro-gamers. And this list of contributors has none. The list has a bunch of interesting personalities from various e-sports genres... but I don't see how any of them are going to make a high master or GM player even more polished into a pro SC2 player. Maybe it's less content-based and more work ethic/ other stuff based... or maybe there are actual SC2 pro-gamers being called in to help, and they just haven't been announced yet (hopefully this). I'm looking forward to seeing more updates and elaboration though

To me it seems that the main point is that pro players get paid to post content which ideally other users want to view. Conveniently all the content is posted on the razer site, which generates a lot of exposure for them and thus makes the thing worthwile. It will also cause eyecancer if used over a long period of time

We'll be announcing more and more pros to take part in this over the weeks and months to come. Trying cover all games (whether considered irrelevant by some or not). Shoutcasters and entertainer are one place to start and they will be working with professional players of Team Razer and some Team Razer players will have their own thing. This is just a starting lineup. Also you can let us know what other games/personalities you'd like to see there under academy @ razerzone.com. We'd love to hear your feedback.
