Margiela stretch denim is much better from the knees down, but the black denim isn't a true black, and the difference is noticeable when worn with black stuff. I don't know why they make it so hard but now I'm trying to find a true black stretch jean that's Margiela level. Gonna try the April77s, and maybe Geller type 3, and Raf. This is more or less the stack I get with Acnes: whereas Margielas actually hug my calves.

A lot of peacoat's tend to not be all that structured or very bland which bothers me. If anyone has good ideas good intel on this subject. I find the billy-reid esque bond peacoat very dull. Something like this? Almost, I'm looking for something nice http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=48186246

I prefer wearing slacks over jeans but I rarely due to issues with fit as jeans hold their structure far easier than chinos. I'm just looking for chinos and trousers for more formal occasions that fit exactly like 511's/PNS.

So from experience I say only drop cash if you're specific about what fabrics you like. Otherwise pick a good fit and keep them as beaters.

I'm heading to Venice early next year and I'm looking for a long topcoat (below knee length) to keep me warm. I have a camel topcoat but it's not quite as long as I'd like. I'm looking for more of a victorian style maxi-coat. I went to the mall here in SF and there was very little selection for men, my favorite was actually a women's coat from ma&co http://world.maxandco.com/p-7014025003005-cardiff-navy-blue (the khaki green version) ![]() The design on the back with the little pleat and belt allows for a much larger range of motion with the arms, and looks pretty sweet to boot. My fashion google-fu isn't the best, maybe someone could point me to some places where I can find maxi coats online?
