i dont like the blue pinstripe and the cream. too much upper class summer clothes feel, which makes it difficult to wear

Not a fan of the cut (coz I'm thin) but otherwise I don't see a problem with it if it fits your style. Gant makes good clothes but it really has a preppy or upper class white dude slant. Which is really not to the taste of a lot of people here, hence the votes against it. But if it goes with the style you want I think it could work. Feels like a rather niche piece though.

Ah gotcha, yeah I see what you guys mean. Probably not my style haha...does seem like it would be a bit baggy/boxy on me as well. I'm pretty new to all of this anyway so I don't have a personal "aesthetic" yet, for the most part--just trying to find classier/nicer clothing.

If you're still in the phase where you're trying to figure out your style, you should stick to cheap stuff and fast fashion so you don't end up wasting a lot of money buying really nice pieces and then deciding it's not for you. Or I guess you could look through more inspiration albums/lookbooks/pinterest and try to figure out what you want your style to be before you start buying.

I mean essentially I thought about how my clothes represent me. What do they imply about who I am when people read me by appearance?

for a bit it was what so the clothes themselves signify to other people that are into clothes (menswear to me signifies tries too hard, or has disposable income. Goth ninja means "spends a lot of time online" or "rich af". Hype/streetwear means "follows the hype". Japanese stuff, "dadcore". Runway, "I'm too broke for that")

But what do they signify to people that aren't? The kind of people that think anyone in a suit looks "snazzy" or wear bright colored shirts. They're looking at cultural signification. Linen means beach. Sweatpants mean college or chill. Flowy stuff means abstract "high fashion" that are either dumb or "I don't get it"

I don't want to look "good" by either group, either through generalization or a poor "style". Not to sound harsh to either, but I don't want to be identified as any of those things, other than my identity.

So fuck clothes. I'll stick to function and fly under the radar. Instead of being defined by the clothes, I would rather they define them as "that's Juliette's type of thing"

Holy shit, that makes sense. Kinda next-level meta shit too lol. Now I feel like nailing yourself to x aesthetic is dumb as well. Hitting some pigeon-holed form of expression to appeal to whatever demographic doesn't matter to me personally either.

idk clothes are just a reflection of things I like and enjoy looking at. it just so happens they're also embodiments of passing zeitgeists and that ranges from nonconsequential to unfortunate depending on your opinion of those facets of society.

grailed charging 4% commission on sales

hit with $80 in customs for my schneider memory coat
