For leather, is there a difference in quality between tanning processes or no? Does natural tanning allow the leather to develop patina and last longer or just bs? I read that chrome tanning is really bad for the environment.

Posted about this coat a couple months ago but the owner ultimately decided to keep. Today he pm'd me a Y! link for the exact same one but with the detachable fur collar. I'm kinda conflicted about this. What season is it from? Is OG Helmut Lang all grail or something? The Yen is really weak right now which will probably be the deciding factor (and andy's opinion).

rei kawakubo was doing monochrome since the 80s, and i guess it could probably be argued that yohji is the progenitor of the pallete (or rather, the one who brought it into public consciousness)

so as a theory question, is most of what the internet kids are into nowadays, monorchrome, either extreme loose or slim fits, just remnants of trends of past innovators? As in has there truly been anything new over the past couple of years in avant-garde fashion? Not that originality is what all designers strive for.

In looking up HL, I'm really struck by how modern his collections were, especially FW99.

this is too subjective to answer really. what do you consider new? a new silhouette? a new "concept" of shoes? is there anything such as new designs of shoes anymore? the cut of garments?

answers could vary from season to season all the way to decade to decade

how would anybody even begin to answer this?

the toj feels a bit tight zipped up, and looks somewhat awkward in general, should I keep? Leaning towards sell as it doesn't seem to favor my body shape. The bottom hem looks weird. Otherwise really good solid construction, good buttons, zippers, nice padding, etc.

It's a 50, I'm mostly wondering if it's too small. This one was stock 50 sizing with like an inch added to arm length.

looks good, only thing i don't like is the flap pockets, but it's not meant to be the same as a merino. btw I'm selling my size V merino, just don't wear it often enough and not practical enough for winter.

I think the merino is cooler but I'm obviously biased. Hood looks like an afterthought on this one. Don't love the colour choices either.
