any good suggestions on sunglasses? I dont have any because they get lost every summer, therefore they shouldnt be too expensive...
Usually I´d like to wear pilot sunglasses but maybe this year Im gonna with something new, dunno.

thoughts on these visvim sneakers? I'm guessing if I'm only wearing 1-2 pairs of sneakers during the summer I should go for something plain right? how much you like visvim is obviously based off personal preference, but you're definitely getting great quality, albeit nowhere near worth the price you pay.

and they don't justify it/need to justify it lol

Visvim literally gouges more than Augusta which is quite an accomplishment in itself.
I guess to a certain extent Visvim's extreme attention to detailing and the manufacturing process/QC is very stringent, but I still don't see how their clothing is worth the 2x markup if you juxtapose them with brands of similar quality/design.

The main kicker for me is that Nakamura outsources all of their manufacturing to Chinese factories, so you're literally paying 2x for Chinese fabrication en masse. At the very least, regardless of what he charges, Simone at least makes all his clothing in house in an actual atelier.
all things considered, if you have a rabid niche consumer base that is willing to pay such a price I'm not going to complain. people do what they want with their own money.

anyhow, if you really like it, go ahead and pull the trigger. I wouldn't say it's worth every penny, but if you enjoy the aesthetic you'll really like what you get, regardless of price.

can you recommend some brands for sneakers and also for general spring/summer shirts/tops? I like junya watanabe stuff but too high end, I have a couple EG jackets and they're very nice, but I don't like a lot of their work shirt/flannel designs.I don't wanna get a pair of pure white sneakers like CP for fear of getting them dirty and also I just don't like the design. I just ordered a bunch of MoMA tees from uniqlo. Also got a couple of AA and sifr plain tees, did not size up like you recommended and I regret it.

rayban aviators are the iconic ones, not too pricey but not cheap, you get what you pay for.

Mostly quartz (not inherently bad), but brand is owned by Fossil, so the movement is likely mass manufactured. All this really means is that the quality you'll get isn't gonna be the best for the price - you'll sacrifice longevity (which is generally what quality means for watches, other than losing time but at the sub 1k level thats not really a thing) but since no one else really dows the ultrathin design, its worth it if you can get a pretty good price.

What price are you getting it for?

pls guys... i'm confused, I need a pair of sneakers and know I should get low plain ones but I can't stop looking at those visvims. If I was to get a CP style sneaker, are there are any good alternatives? I've looked at MMM (no plain ones), all the canvas brands (seaves, converse), Adidas, Kent Wang, Acne Adrian, CDG, Filling Pieces. I just don't like how the CP achilles look from top and also everyone has a pair. Not a lot of people actually have CPs.

Just because the internet makes it seem like so doesn't make it true.. I've probably seen CPs less than a handful of times and I'm in downtown Toronto pretty much every day.

ive seen CPs once at an airport. seen rick as much as CP...

ive seen yeezys more than CPs actually. theres some asian dudes on campus that wear a lot of the hypebeasty stuff. BAPE, yeezys, raws, etc.

on that note one of my TAs wears PJBs and i dont know how to talk to him about it without being weird

I just don't like the design then, I know the construction is supposed to be superb and they're the most minimalistic with a good silhouette, etc but I just think they look sorta weird from top and also wearing pure white sneakers just looks... too clean. I know I don't know much and probably have unrefined aesthetic tastes but I'd feel guilty if I dropped that much on something just because everyone else says they look good. I do get that it's awkward to wear shorts with high tops and low tops generally go better with more kinds of bottoms. Just looking for some guidance in general. I remember taking an art history class once and got beat down by my professor for having bad taste but I was just like how was I supposed to know...

Btw I really like the SPRZNY uniqlo shirts but too bad they all sold out within like a week, managed to cop like 8 of them though.

From browsing forums I read that canvas sneakers are easier to stain and harder to clean so I guess I should go for leather? The only other pair of non boot shoes I have is a pair of blue/white suede Adidas mid top sneakers and my jeans have dyed most of whatever white was left. I'm kinda scared of that happening to white sneakers also.

When you wash white sneakers, don't leave them to dry out in the sun. You need to dry it without light, like near a radiator or something so it doesn't stain yellow

well I don't see that many cps even in SF, much less the rest of the bay area but I'm not surprised

fashion forums/threads are an aggregation of a people that care about clothes, but in reality they are all scattered across the globe. probably explains why you see a high concentration of a certain type of clothing online, and rarely ever see it in your everyday life.
forums are also subject to groupthink, so a lot of trends appeal to the lowest common denominator of people's tastes.

Anyhow, if you like something louder/busier then go ahead and find something else you like. I probably wouldn't get those cdg though, they're basically a pair of achilles low with a black stripe and less value.

mmm makes a plain gat as well, you probably weren't looking hard enough.

you can also try different models of CP; they don't solely make achilles lows.

and I guess if you're that conflicted about the shoe design, go try them on and see how they look. if you end up not liking CP, ordering a similar thing from another brand isn't going to change anything - try your visvims instead.
