Why don't you want norvegesse or Meermin? I have absolutely no experience with Ed et al pair but as far as I've read their quality isn't the best. The same could ofcourse be said for Meermin but they are mostly considered worth their price. The worst thing about Meermin is that it takes about three eons before you actually get the shoes. Your request is pretty specific and whole cut blind brogues in burgundy aren't exactly raining from the sky, therefore I really can't see many other options. I'd go on Styleforum and ask if I where you, I'm European and thus rather unfamiliar with the US market, there may very well be something out there. Note: I'm by no means an expert

AE Fairfax, assuming you don't hate AE?

I've never tried on the Fairfax but the AE's I have tried always feel so bulky on my tiny svelte feet (7B). That's why I like more European shapes.
I've heard the Meermins take forever so I was hoping there were alternatives.
I guess a whole cut medallion would be okay. Or should I stop thinking that I'd look good in whole cuts lol

300 is not more than anyone's rent. I got the jacket today and sadly found out I need to size up fore everything EG despite fitting comfortably in medium for Uniqlo. I did get a EG Bedford jacket and it's like the most versatile piece of clothing I've ever come across. It looks completely different with the collar up and down. Can wear it as a casual blazer or as a regular outerwear.

the vast majority of posters are college students who have rents between $400-600 so to them an amount like this is quite a lot.

I sat on this blazer for a while and now it's sold out in my size and I can't find any other stockists at all
emailed the store but not getting hopes high. that said they don't have matching pants in my size anywhere else either so maybe it's destiny
also found a good cheap-ish tailor in london, gonna pick up my new pants tomorrow, hoping they come out alright. it's only waist being taken in so shouldn't be a big deal

Regarding my nearly 40 week ToJ:
Hi Alex!
This is dan here and I wanted to apologize on the delay. We had to halt production for a bit but we are well aware of your order and we are rushing to get everything back on track. We noted your jacket is still in line to get cut and we hope you can understand that there are still people who've been waiting as well. Anyways we appreciate your patience and you will get your jacket made. We apologize for any inconvenience and will contact you when the jacket gets sent.
Thank you.

it almost feels like toj isn't worth it. the wait must be absolute nightmare..
did anyone get in on that schneider coat order at YNWA? was considering it but dropping $1k on a coat mid-spring feels bad, man. not even 100% sure I want it either
|
its nmwa and they're getting limited restocked in f/w albeit without the 10% discount so no worries if you missed out this time
the blue merino is legendary
|
lol, it didn't sound right to me either. must've been thinking of football while typing -.-
seems odd that they would re-re-release it though.

designers re-re-re-re-re-re-release their most popular items all the time
geller reissues his flight pants every season raf reissues his astros and velcros every season rick reissues his bomber and geobaskets every season etcetcetc
although you're kind of right, this isn't an every season thing. apparently the curators of nmwa managed to needle him into reissuing the coats. I'm not complaining though, exclusivity is kind of stupid in this regard. imo he should release a small batch of them every season so that the entire concept isn't played out, but still accessible.
anyways regarding the coat itself, I find that the style may be too boring for me but that fabric is really unparalleled, it's actually really great up close. that quilted inner layer looks great unbuttoned as well.

what's the opinion of CDG sneakers compared to CP? What about Junya Watanabe in general?

I appreciate that but in my view that coat is essential schneider - his "the" piece, the thing that comes to mind first.. although of course I shouldn't complain - if you're right that gives me another chance to get it..
i was so almost ready to get this coat tho.. i only discovered these A Kind of Guise people a couple of months a go and they make just the coolest stuff.

Dumb question about spring jackets. I was looking into getting the penfield gibson. I was wondering if it is acceptable to wear it even if it isn't raining? It is going to be in the upper 40's to mid 50's this week and cloudy and I don't think wearing my hoodie over my work clothes would look appropriate.

Yes, it's not an umberella you can wear it as long as its not hot enough to make you boil inside. Hoodies in public are for people who are younger than 20 yo anyway ^^. Btw thats a nice jacket
