So I'm going out to this concert tonight and having been a cavedweller for the last year or so I'm slightly clueless as to wear. Anyway picked up a lovely pair of khaki chinos which im thinking of wearing with a white eton shirt (slim-fit) and then either grey or blue summer shoes. Does that sound okay? Also, do you still wear a white t-shirt underneath a shirt or is that passé? Any suggestions most welcome! <3

I recently bought the following and im very pleased: http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=281058025450 From what i've seen in this thread I guess most of the posters here prefer to wear sneakers, in which case I understand why you don't think boatshoes look good. Id go with blue shoes instead of gray other than that a cool (as in not warm) windjacket wouldnt hurt if you have one. Something like this; http://www.boomerangstore.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/3/1/3165317057-bla_l_f_jacka.jpg Or this model, although not the same color as the chinos. Beige chinos, beige jacket white shirt becomes a bit much. http://www.esprit.eu/men/all_brands/CLOTHES/jackets_coats/cotton_jackets_parkas

wider ties are the opposite. technically you're right for the wrong reasons. most people who wear skinny ties just think it's trendy; it's really supposed to be a tool for balancing out ratios through the use of a visual illusion.

As stated by the guy over me it depends on what your body looks like. Personally I am a skinny guy and think I look a lot better in a "skinny" tie. A normal tie just makes me look ever skinnier.

I've never understood what people see in shoes like the first (and second, for that matter) you posted. They look so juvenile. Typical for a "swag" outfit right there, but I guess that's a matter of personal preference.
