I don't agree with Paul on certain parts of his policies but as a whole I far prefer them to Obama's or Bush's. He straight up blows the other candidates out of the water in terms of respecting the people. But, I don't really know what I'm against, what's your take then?

Well there are lots of problems with Ron Paul's beliefs, but concerning foreign policy, leaving all international organizations, such as the UN, and closing all overseas military bases, are not things that will benefit our country. Maybe after the debate I can get a little more in depth about it if you'd like.

I would argue that leaving international organizations isn't an issue if you're willing to talk in the first place without having the rest of the world nudge you. In the face of willing diplomatic parties the UN becomes moot. Now, if you're taking this from the stance that the United States represents an economic and political empire that should be maintained, that's a whole new can of worms. tl;dr: I'm game. I like talking ![]() I personally would rather have our country be a part of, especially when we have a leading role in, an international organization that fosters global diplomacy and communication. The body was created to increase the ease with which countries can communicate with each other, and has succeeded at such, and leaving it would more likely than not reverse such progress. I just can't see the benefits of cutting all foreign aid, closing all military bases overseas, and leaving all international organizations and military alliances such as the UN, NATO, the ICC, etc outweighing the losses our country will suffer. I think decisions we've made in the past have hurt our reputation, such as Iraq, but withdrawing our military to our own borders and disbanding it for the most part (in the past Ron Paul has suggested that all we really need to defend ourselves are a few well placed submarines) is not the correct strategy.
