I agree with another Limb, He has time to get smart and strong after he eats some grass or dirt or whatever. he's not super mobile right now so he may be no where near a food/water source, need to get him some feet.

I say intelligence. If it gives a lot of insight to enemies and the area around it, it could prove to be the most useful stat. I doubt it'll die after 1 turn (if it did, then we would never be able to evolve. We'd have to explore every round)...
At least Mating kinda worked out like how everyone thought eating would (absorb their stregnths and evolutions). This actually makes mating seem like a viable strategy.

EDIT:
Just thought of something. If we get very high intel and tells us about our opponents, we're pretty much set. We'll know who we can fight (or mate with, as TL will vote), who to run from, and so on.
