No, I wouldn't mention it. I mean she was there to have fun and you didn't make a move, so she just went on to have a good time even if she secretly wanted you to make a move. But eve if it was an "issue" at the time of the dance, don't make it one anymore. That type of talk is the one you should be having with your guy friend, not this girl. Like people have mentioned earlier, talking too much about "this other guy" will make you seem... well I can't find the right word so let's just say it isn't the best move. Just think... if she does like you, and you liker her, and you do end up going out... did what happened at that dance really matter at all? The ends are the same... and if she's into your friend instead, she might not accept the little date invitations you gave, and that will be the same whether you metion the dance or not. So basically the ends will end up as the same so don't metion it at all. I mean from her perspective... she was at the dance to have fun so over dramatising it would... be wierd.

InsideOut, I kind of want to go to the girl first and probe because if I go to her first and she doesn't show any interest in me [then i would let it go], I wouldn't have already told my friend all my feelings towards her and he would be oblivious to it, and well, good for him.

if that doesnt help, start explaining what a ling is and dont forget to emphasize their deadliness when used in a flank. or tell her that ur mutas will harass the crap out of her for the rest of her life so she'll never be able to get an expansion up. needless to say i havent had so much luck with girls myself

I'm pretty sure shes not gonna say no to go out with you to a coffee shop. And besides even if she does say no its still gonna go around, eventually to your friend who will go about it all wrong.

We're not great friends, but i'm maybe on the outer circle of her friends (she of course has an inner core of girl-friends). If you want to get with her, stop doing that, RIGHT NOW!

Take her out to a movie or something, and be cool. Don't EVER tell her you like her straight up, that'll get you no where. Go in, like a confident man, and make your move. Break the ice with some jokes, that's always good. Way to revive the thread ;/ thanks. I've decided not to say that. D'you think saying what grot suggested on... page 3... after first "date" to say "hey, i think you're cool, i seriously like you" is okay and not too straight-forward/rushing? Normally I'd feel comfortable to say that after a few dates, but I'm feeling the time pressure because of my friend.

Okay, if she's told me i was nice on more than one occasion as a compliment, does that change things? I can't help being nice. If iIm not nice, agh won't that make her think I have no interest? I think the "guys should act cool, don't be nice [treat it like you don't need the girl], wait a few days to call" thing only works if the girl is attracted to the guy majorly. And then, that kind of attitude works well I guess.

I think the "guys should act cool, don't be nice [treat it like you don't need the girl], wait a few days to call" thing only works if the girl is attracted to the guy majorly. And then, that kind of attitude works well I guess. Imagine this: Nice to a man is like a silver bullet to a werewolf. Seriously, girls don't like nice guys. I've had some conversations with girls about this, and they will all say that nice guys are not what they're looking for. Nice guys are seen as weak, and needy. You don't want to be seen as that (even if you are). You want to be seen as a tough guy, basically. That doesn't mean you have to be an asshole, but being nice certainly isn't the right idea, either, especially not when first trying to get with a girl. Most women want to be the weaker of the two in a relationship, for whatever reason. They want a strong man, not a little pussy who's going to worship the ground they walk on, but someone who will make them worship their ground. (If you get what I'm saying) You don't want her to know you're really attracted to her. I know it doesn't make sense, but you really don't. If she knows you're attracted to her, then the mystery is gone, and probably any spark of attraction she once had for you. My best advice would be to not be a nice guy. If your first instinct is to buy her roses, don't do it. I agree with most of what GroT said, but I would NEVER tell a girl I liked her. Ever. I never have, and never will. That's another huge problem with guys, they feel this crazy need to tell a girl everything that they feel. Girls don't want that, they don't want to know that deep inside you're a wuss. PM me your email address and I'll email you some good articles about getting women from David D. Time and pressure shouldn't bother you at all. Be calm, be confident, and go for it. Just ask her to a movie, or something. Then later lunch, then you move on to dinner. Dinner is an important thing. It's like the next step in dating, kind of. I don't know why, it just seems to be seen as more than eating. There's not much else to say that other people haven't said. Just be confident, and don't be overly nice, or clingy. Also, I'd go to her first. If you can't talk openly to your friend about who you like, and don't like (unless this could hurt your friendship), then the friendship is probably expendable. I say, fuck him, go for her, but that's me. (believe me, after not having gone for a girl who I still like, and not saying fuck it about my friend, I have had nothing but regret over the last two years [also a huge reason I'm not really interested in getting with anyone right now]) As a side note, Wednesday has worked for me in the past. It's an obscure day that people normally aren't doing things on, and if it goes good, the rest of the week feels awesome. If it goes bad, the week's almost over, so you can get past it. (Last edit) If you want to know more on where I stand, or take some advice from me, whatever, PM me your AIM, MSN, or Email, preferably one of the first two.
