Basically it was definitely a bunch of stupid anarachists that were planning on doing that no matter what the result was. They brought lighters gas rags etc so they could cause damage and impressionable idiots decided to go with it. Its one of the reasons I was happy to get a reservation with me and my friends at a restaurant The RCMP from what I could tell handled it well, they were controlling the crowds e Zz and effectively surrounding it from all sides. Yes it sucks that stores got broken into but at least no one was killed (afaik?). Honestly I don't even like the cops in vancouver but that was an impressive display from my perspective. Also the next day I was in downtown again and people were cleaning everything up and signing boards that covered the broken windows apologizing to businesses / boston fans etc etc etc dispersed tear gas is a great way to get sober btw haha | ||

As for the guy earlier in the thread that is saying that people are getting mad for nothing cause insurance will pay for everything and we should just enjoy the show, please leave our country. If you think that is in any way the case, and you think that line of reasoning is sane, do us a favour and just go away, cause people like you are the reason shit like this happens. What about those families, who lost their vehicles, and cant drive anywhere? What if they have kids to take to school? They now need to get a rental car, then they need to go through weeks of insurance bs to get a family car back. What about those shop owners whos places were destroyed. Itll take weeks to fix their shops. They lose business being closed. Why? All so you can "enjoy the show". Youre an asshole. | ||

I agree that these worthless pieces of shit need to be beaten but they are not just going to sit there and take it. There was no need to escalate the situation, would only make it worse. That I'm glad that dude stood up to the assholes but i wish more of the crowd joined in. | ||

Actually about 4 hours ago there was a top rated comment on the youtube video that linked two facebook profiles to the guy in the 40 shirt and another one of the vandals, but it has strangely disappeared. It had 81 thumbs up at the time i saw it. | ||
