Points of importance: -This riot was nothing compared to what happened in 1994 -News coverage and police statements indicate that only a fraction of people were actually causing trouble, the majority of people were taking picture for Facebook and videos for YouTube -This is not an indicator of how the rest of Vancouver acts in their day to day lives. I agree, it makes us look bad, but Canadians are still the friendly folk we've always been. Every city has their share of jagoffs, just search Boston Fans in youtube, most people know the video I'm talking about. It's time to move on and stop dignifying the stupid behaviour of a few with responses, because 12 years down the road when we get to a Stanley Cup final again, we don't need people trying to recreate the "2011 Stanley Cup Riots". I'll be downtown with the rest of the volunteers today cleaning up. | ||
