Keep it civil guys. Alright I am sick of warning people: Trolling, flame baiting, and derailing will result in insta bans. The same goes for conspiracy theorists and stupidity generally. Confirmation was as follows - On-site DNA test which came back as 99% positive. - photos of face sent to CIA and confirmed with photo analysis - confirmed by 20 year old wife who live in pakistan. This thread is specifically dedicated to the details surrounding the raid/his death.

Either way it's awesome. I want to know the name of the Hero that took his head. I'll send a letter of appreciation to him

Most extremists these days probably are because they saw the western nations wreaking havoc in arabian countries (not always military, often economically), not because of al'Qaida propaganda. There are countless terroristic organisations these days. 2) Other than many leaders, Bin Laden stood up to his ideals -even though those were the obviously wrong ones- and took all the risks. He's coming from a wealthy family, but look at what kind of life he choses (always on the run in some of the poorest areas, beeing chased by killing teams). If that guy just have had the right ideals... Note: I don't mean to say that killing Bin Laden was bad, it is obviously justified for him to order and organise so many killings. I just want to say that I don't see a reason for beeing that happy about it, revenge alone won't ever help anyone. I dont even need to read the rest of it after the first statement cause the rest is irrelevant. WE KNOW THAT THE WAR ON TERROR IS NOT OVER! Its symbolic thats it period. Fin. Finished. Test over. Final. Thats it.

I just want to say that I don't see a reason for beeing that happy about it, revenge alone won't ever help anyone. 1) There's a reason Bin Laden and co started an organization that literally translates as "The Base" (if I remember my reading correctly) and were so successful with it. If you want to make big and effective terrorist attacks happen, you want a large organization to act as the base and that's exactly what Al Qaeda represents. While there are countless terrorist organizations, none of them are capable of the kind of large scale strikes Al Qaeda was. 2) In some ways I agree with this point. The man could have done so many wonderful things. But that's precisely what made him so dangerous; he represented the perfect leader for any organization.
