 Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but if you remember from grade 6! its BEDMAS - B-brackets E-exponents DM-multiply or divide (left to right) AS-add subtract (left to right) | ||

Division and Multiplication have the same priority, same goes for Addition and Subtraction. The acronym could just as easily be PEMDAS, PEMDSA, PEDMSA... | ||

My mistake was assuming that 48 / 2(9+3) was somehow different from 48 / 2 * (9+3). | ||
