Edit, also, personally, I like the gravelly Batman voice. But, then again, I listen to Death Metal, so there you go.

With all that being said, they were both really interesting and entertaining and I'm really looking forward to the third one.

He did great jobs with the two prior movies, and I'm sure the third is gonna be great as well, but it's hollywood right on the spot. I'm disappointed about the whole Robin thing, I think they could include Robin as some kind of "sidekick" without it being tacky. Robin is a major character of the Batman universe and should be allowed to play a role. dunno, inception, prestige and memento weren't exactly hollywood endings. even dark knight was not a 'real' hollywood ending concerning batman. in batman begins + Show Spoiler + he doesn't get the girl and i feel he's not gonna do pure happy ending as the conclusion

I think a few others could have played the role and it would have gotten the same reaction about how amazing it was. lol this makes no sense. The actor shouldn't get any credit because the character is already interesting enough? It's his unique interpretation of the joker that got him so many fans. Those qualities you described are present in almost every villain. Ledger just made it more real. I really enjoyed dark knight, but like others have said I liked batman begins more simply because the dark knight was trying to accomplish way too many things. DK would've been way better if they hadn't had the two face bit. That part just seemed rushed and added on as an after-thought, causing the movie to seem way too bloated. Two face is a really intriguing character by himself, and I thought aaron eckhart would've really shown the complexity/depth of of him if he had more scenes or simply fleshed him out in a completely different story. If DK would've ended with a conclusion stressing how the joker basically "proved his point" by corrupting harvey dent, and made the next movie about two face, it would've allowed DK to just focus solely on the joker and make for a smooth transition into a third movie.

Inception had the main character succesfully make it home to his children, succeed in his mission and even pulled out the guy who was bleeding for the whole movie. Memento was a "surprise twist"-movie, in my book in the same style as i.e. Saw or Se7en. Very very hollywood. The prestige was sort of similar in the whole twist thing.

I would say most movies and books and stories have a bittersweet ending or a twist, depending on what kind of story it is. Tragedies really aren't that common in any storytelling genre. Usually the term "hollywood ending" means a perfect ending where everything is concluded, and Nolan's movies have never done that.

+ Show Spoiler + Trailer opens with studio logos set on top of the blue flame from Dark Knight. Start panning up some buildings, cut to screen card. EVERY HERO HAS A JOURNAY. Cuts to a shot from "Begins" with Bruce walking up to that Village when he's looking for Ra's Al Ghul. Screen Card: EVERY HERO HAS AN END Ra's voice over: "If you make yourself more than just a man. If you devout yourself to be ideal. And you become something else entirely. A legend Mr. Wayne... A LEGEND!" Screen Card: THE EPIC CONCLUSION Cut to Gordon in a hospital bed laying on his side. Looks to be in serious pain. Has a breathing mask on. He's talking to someone. Gordon: "We were in this together, then you were gone... Now this Evil rises. The Batman... HAS to come back." (All this is said in a very raspy voice, in much pain.) Bruce/Batman (its not shown who he's talking to, so don't know in which form Bruce is visiting him in. My guess would be as Bruce Wayne): "What if he doesn't exist anymore?" This part is the hardest to understand in the entire trailer. I listened to it at least 10 times but the score is over powering here and Gordon is having trouble talking. It sounds like if says "Humor me" while trying to laugh. I might be wrong here, full disclosure. During this quick talk we're shown a shot of the bat cycle when it drives up the ramp from "Dark Knight," Gordon destroying the Bat Signal all cut in with the Hospital. As well as super fast flashes of Bane's face. Pan up crumbling buildings to reveal the teaser poster, the camera zooms to the white opening and on an all white screen the title appears. The score reaches a fever pitch before turning over to The chanting from the website. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Fades to black and then we see Batman backing away from something, then Bane enters from the left side of the screen. Very quick shot, then the trailer is done.

![]() Poster looks nice and without really knowing anything about bane it sounds like it has quite a bit of potential. I'm leery about the casting of catwoman, but really I haven't heard any names pop up in the thread that really jump out at me as a "catwoman" other than Halle Berry, but that's for different reasons ^^

Totally agree. Two-Face could have been a complete movie on its own. They should have had the creation of 2 face at the end as a teaser, and then base another movie on Two-Face. Although I'm very excited for Catwoman. I think Anne Hathaway will do an excellent job. Many people underestimated Heath Ledger, and he made an excellent Joker. EDIT: Now that I think of it. If they make it that 2-face doesn't actually die, but rather escapes Gotham and goes on a rampage, that would make an good movie. make him appear mid-way through a movie as the mastermind of something.

I too, thought itd be a great concept/opportunity to have let Two-Face survive and make the third movie primarily about him : P oh well, wasted opportunity..

I'm also glad Nolan is not buying into 3D. 3D seems too gimmicky for me, and it can be a bit disorienting sometimes.
