Crisis in Japan - Page 38

Thread is about the various issues surrounding Japan in the aftermath of the recent earthquake. Don't bring the shit side of the internet to the thread, and post with the realization that this thread is very important, and very real, to your fellow members. Do not post speculative and unconfirmed news you saw on TV or anywhere else. Generally the more dramatic it sounds the less likely it's true.

It's a bit of a strange feeling, these people in Egypt or Lybia or New Zealand or Japan that you might have casually talked to 5 minutes ago now simply no longer exist. Aside from the obvious general loss of human life, there's also a strange sense that these are distant acquaintances that are dying. It feels like when you open an old jigsaw puzzle and there's a few pieces missing. Maybe I'm just getting old, or maybe this whole ambient presence thing is changing how people feel about each other.

The absolute best anyone can do is saying that there is a potential of a quake in some region. Getting specific warnings, thus far, is pretty much impossible.

But a lot of people died in Sendai and it seems that other countries might suffer from this aswell. Hope this all is over as soon as possible.

They'd just probably get stuck in it until it goes back to normal. The thing is, the current based whirl pools don't usually suck downwards. Still, hope everyone is ok and prayers go out to those that were unfortunately killed in the disaster.
