thats sad stuff right there T.T - fucking journalists only care about money, no regard of human life and common dignity.
Its like the picture says, "lets suck the last piece of money that we can get out of this shit girl like the good capitalist we are".

That's not fair at all. Journalists have a job to do. You're oversimplifying things, pictures can have profound effects.

great picture. the person refusing to give tha nazi salute is allegedly august landmesser.
he had married a jewish woman who was later on sent to a concentration camp and apparently met her demise there. this particular picture shows workers of the hamburg wharf blohm and voss. it is still stuff of debate though if this really depicts august landmesser.

Perhaps the most complex riddle mankind has ever come up with. Maybe some day it will be found.

Its not a 'complex riddle'. Its universal key.

The drawing containing two circles in the lower right-hand corner is a drawing of the hydrogen atom in its two lowest states, with a connecting line and digit 1 to indicate that the time interval associated with the transition from one state to the other is to be used as the fundamental time scale, both for
the time given on the cover and in the decoded pictures.

The Hydrogen atom was chosen for a rather specifc reason

Journalists dont have a job to do. They have the option to do their job, that means they have a choice.
Also one must take into consideration that this picture is not a single case. It can be extrapolated more or less to the entire guild of journalism. And when all journalists behaves like that it sends a message. The message is saying, "dont help people, do your job. Your job and your career are more important than helping victims".
So what do we get? We get a population suffering from mass psychosis that makes them care less for each other and more for themselves.

Lead by example as they say.. And thats what is happening.

I think it depends on the situation. It could be that in some situations a picture does more than helping the individual could do.

I, personally, don't agree. I just think that saying the picture says "lets suck the last piece of money that we can get out of this shit girl like the good capitalist we are" isn't entirely fair. We don't even know if those journalists helped the girl or not. We don't even know what they thought about the situation. If he says that none of those people care about human life and that they only care about money, then it's based on very very little and it's an unfair statement.

The idea is that if we ever do contact intelligent life, they won't speak any of our languages. they will however, advance in math and science the exact same way, seeing as this is a universal constant. the hydrogen atoms in particular are easiest to most simple to examine, so they are the most likely to recognize them.

Image from the quake in Spain that happened earlier today. The interesting thing to note is MSNBC decided to put a picture that contained a quake victim face down in a pool of his own blood on their front page.. Quite odd

In one game, Chinook, playing with white pieces, made a mistake on the tenth move. Tinsley remarked, "You're going to regret that." Chinook resigned after move 36, fully 26 moves later

Marion Tinsley plays chinook (Checker AI)

Why is this a greater picture than Deepblue beating Garry Kasparov? In 1992 Marion Tinsley beat Chinook, and since Chinook won 1990, Chinook would be allowed to challenge the 1st place for national title - but was REFUSED by American Checkers Federation and English Draughts Association, since it was non-human. Tinsley resigned his WORLD champion title in order to be allowed to play Chinook. After 6 games of draws, Tinsley had to withdraw due to health reasons... 7 months later he died, still the best checker player ever to live in many peoples eyes.

Huge respect to Tinsley.

Guernica, a small Basque town (Basque region being the mountainous region along the Spain/French Border and a lot of northern Spain) was bombed in 1937 by the Luftwaffe. It had pretty much 0 strategical or militaristic importance, so it is pretty much widely accepted that it was a 'test subject' of Nazi air raids. The town was completely defenseless against the attack, and Picasso's painting of the same name is based on this.

Afaik journalists are not supposed to interact with the people they are documenting. There is really no way they can help all the people in need anyways, that being said they do a hell of a lot more than you. Their pictures help raise awareness for these people to draw in more help, what have you done for the less fortunate?

How would they know when they had decoded it right is simple, the first image that they will see is the blank screen with a circle. That is the reason of that picture.
