Hello hello.

Just wondering, could anyone recommend me movies that are similar to "Lost in Translation"? Feeling quite lost these days and wouldn't mind watching a movie, which I can relate to.

I also saw Coppola's (writer/director of Lost in Translation) other movie "Somewhere". Its okay. A lot of the same feeling. Kind of good, kind of meh.

Anyway, thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Sideways is a pretty good "comedy"-ish movie about two middle aged guys, even as a youngster I found some of the themes relatable. It's a good movie.

Woody Allen movies might work for you, too.

i don't have any suggestions off the top of my head, though Lost in Translation was a beautiful movie.

Other movie's that i quite enjoy (unfortunately not similar to Lost in Translation):

Mind you, these are all movies that won't have the pace, feeling or presentation as "Lost in Translation", but I feel they accomplish what you might be looking for in Lost In Translation (but better, I found LiT to be a bit pretentious).

Maybe you could try "Picnic at Hanging Rock" since it had such a big influence on Sofia Coppola's work. And it's a wonderful movie as well.

Lost in Translation is an absolute favourite movie of mine, ive seen it around 100 times at various stages of life

Other films about finding yourself through surprise encounters are Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. Absolutely recommend you watch them if u liked the feel of Lost in Translation

I'd say that the movie "The Girl in the Café" is also a bit like that. It's a truly warm and romantic movie, in the non-cliché kind of way, but at the same time it also beautifully portrays people fumbling their way around in life, especially the male lead, but to some extent also the woman. At the same time it has a "feel good" theme to it, if that appeals to you. Defintely one of my favourite movies - so few of its kind

Is also really good, it might be too much of a stretch to compare it to lost in translation but it still has that same feel to it. Disparity and loneliness that is.

Lost in Translation is one of if not my favorite movies. You might want to check out Garden State, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Sideways

Lost in translation is an ok lost in movie, but have you seen the other lost in movies? My favorite is Lost in Space! Doesn't have Bill Murry, but it's got aliens, robots, spaceships, and time travel! What else could you ask for? Nothing. Then there's always Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco they suck because they aren't in space, but still they are Lost in movies so if that's what you really want.

Very disillusioning and disorientating. ~^^
