China has very legitimate qualms about having to deal with a humanitarian crisis along North Korea's northern boarder. If the government of N. Korea falls, people sure aren't going to go running across the world's largest landmine field. They're going North into China. So China's response has been pretty typical, it's how they're dealing with the Tibetan issue, the Uighur issue, and their abysmal human rights record. They tacitly keep doing what they're doing (supporting the N. Korean regime), and hope that somehow the problem just goes away. They surely can't ignore this, but I'm sure they're going to somehow try. | ||
