So like I would say i'm 5'11, which I'm sure many of you wouldn't understand really (non-North Americans, I don't know to what extent you guys would know measurements in feet and inches) 5'11 is like 176-177cm i'd say, 6'0 is 180 so when he says i don't think 'anybody' gets 'estimately' how tall that is, he means north americans dont really have an understanding between height differences of 1.5 m or 1.7m i'm gonna stop rambling now

I mean the problem is that 6'0 *isn't* 180 cm, despite like 90% of those who think they know the conversion believing it is. 6'0 is actually 183 centimeters. (been guilty of the same for a long time) basically I feel the "i dont' think anybody gets estimately how tall that is" is just another example of the "america is the world" logic some people follow that is actually quite infuriating. (because he says "anybody" instead of "most americans", many europeans won't know how tall 5 feet is. ) I guess I'm kinda going the other way and almost making it seem like america isn't even part of the world but that's not my intention ; )

i think the only time most canadians will use it is when using height measurements... we use km/h and such so >_< just hard to change when you were raised this way =o
