Rant. + Show Spoiler +Congratulations on subscribing to anti-Christian propaganda. You're totally wrong. The collapse of culture in Europe was caused by the destruction of the Roman Empire (not that they were doing much 'science' anyway) when Christianity was still in its infancy. Until the 16th Century, the Church was pretty much the only supporter of education in Europe. Nearly every important scientist was supported financially by the Church. Kepler, Copernicus and Mendel- all monks or very Christian. So, you're not only wrong, your description is pretty much the complete opposite of reality. If only there was no Christianity, then Europe would have been up to the same scientific advancement as Africa, the Middle East, India and China. OWAIT.

+ Show Spoiler +However, the church preserved some of the books but they made sure nobody could read them for a while. They preserved science by mistake... it wasn't done in "good faith".

Actually, the debate about religious jikes is quite stupid imo. If someone gets upset becuase of a joke about his religion, it is (for me at least) a sign for something being entirely wrong with this persons religion. Why not just laugh and still believe in your god?!
