I would like to share my Sleep Paralysis Dreams,
these are by far the most scary type of dream I have ever had
I have 2 experiences
The first one was when I was the inbetween stages of being awake and asleep. I was lying on my bed. I could hear the radio and was aware of my room but I couldn't move. I thought I could see but I probably was dreaming of my room. Anyways, for some reason the room got hotter and hotter because of the sun setting outside and I have pretty big windows that let a lot of heat in. I felt it harder and harder to breathe. I had to gasp at every breath, I told my self to wake up. I forced myself to move but I still couldn't. (this is what cystic fibrosis must feel like) I thought I was going to die because I couldn't breathe. After a long struggle to force myself to wake I jolted from my dream and was totally out of breath. That really scared me becuase i thought I was at the brink of death.
The second dream was actually my scariest. I think this is related to the OP dreams. I googled it and apparently a lot of people have these kinds of nightmares where they see a black figure. In this dream it was completely dark, pitch black. But I could feel the presence of someone in the darkness. I think it was more than one person actually, anyways I was completely paralysed. I tried to move but the being kept getting closer and closer. And then I felt something... hands started to touch my body all over. First gently then more and more forcefully, I could feel like 2-3 pairs of hands just grabbing and yanking and digging into my skin. I was so terrified but I couldn't move I just had to wait for all the madness to end. And then it got worse...
The hands had instruments, sharp ones. Needles and piercing instruments, saws and hooks. They began puncturing my entire body. Ripping at my flesh, at this point I was screaming my lungs off. A cold chill went through me as I was horried at these beings tearing my body apart. What made the dream scarier was that it was completely dark. I couldn't not see my abusers...nor could I move. I just had to lie there and feel completely helpless.
Then I woke up.
I have been reading on these kinds of experiences and I think some people have mistaken them for Alien Abductions or whatever. I had watched a movie went I was a kid called Fire in the Sky, a guy had flash backs of a traumatic experience of an alien abduction. But to me it didn't feel alien,... it felt demonic. It felt very very evil and very real. Does anyone else have these kind of experiences? Please share.

I once dreamed that I was piloting a Protoss Corsair and dodging tons and tons of longbow missiles that were being fired from an array of missile turrets on a metal ocean platform, performing sharp turns and crazy flying tricks like corkscrews and full loops. Either I was hit, or I decided to abandon ship, so I did something and fell right out of the cockpit. However, I wasn't very high up, and sitting on a metal folding chair, and so I did the reasonable thing and held onto the chair as tight as I could as I plunged deep into the water.
Then I woke up.

I had a dream I was Eminem. I just got out of jail for whatever reason. I went to Dr.Dre's house and he was living in the ghetto for some reason. Dre was really buff and just opened a new gym and told me to sign up. Then I helped him move a bunch of furniture out of his house so he could live somewhere nicer. Then I woke up.

I had this dream about a year ago and it's one that i'll never forget.
I found myself walking down the streets of a strange city I've never seen. There were clocks everywhere and the sky was pitch black and the buildings were warped in spiral configurations. All of the clock hands seemed to be accelerated, minutes were seconds and hours were minutes to give a reference point.
Similar to many dreams, I had no idea what was happening or that I was even dreaming, I just merely observed myself following the course of the dream. I kept on walking what appeared to several days according the clocks, but I didn't experience anything, no hunger, no fatigue, not even the slightest hint of sentience. There was only the burning desire to walk.
Eventually, the question to where I was walking to appeared in front of me. It was a door, out in the open, with only the blackness of clocks behind it. I apparently decided to open it to continue my walk, and when I entered the room I experienced quite a strange sensation. I woke up, but not in the sense that I awoken in the physical world, but I was awake in my mind. I quickly came to the realization that I've been walking for days and felt extremely tired and hungry, not to mention that I shat myself. I collapsed to the floor and there was then a person now kneeling at my side, I looked at her and asked who she was. Her response: Someone who doesn't exist. And then I woke up.

As I swim on in pure dumbstruck awe, I see a TON of bright glowing circles at what appears to be the bottom of this cave. Solar that was amazing!!!
Guys try to post up visuals along with your dream from now on, It makes the story telling much more vivid!
Viletomato : it's so weird that so many people have the same experience...
Malgrif that was a really good one 2. I knew this would be a good thread idea ^.^

I have repeated dreams, there is this one specific dream that i have about once every 5 months - every exact detail the same. It started when i was around 10. I'm 17. So for 7 years i have this dream. But now, after so many times I can deduce that I am dreaming and just open up my eyes.
the dream goes like this: I am sitting in my house and hear a scream. I go outside and round the block and see my friend lying on the pavement outside his house and there is 2 wolves eating his insides. Once i see this I run back to my house, but the wolves caught my scent and follow me. Epic long chase happens. Finally I escape by jumping out my window and get away somehow. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In some dreams I have, when my alarm clock goes off, I just include the alarm clock into my dream and don't wake up. For example there was this one time I thought some1 was ringing my doorbell repeatedly. I got pissed. Then finally realized it was my alarm clock.

@Chupacabra(UCSD) What do you mean by sleep paralysis?

The wikipedia article on it is pretty good. That coupled with the depictions in this thread should clear everything up.
*edit But in my own words it's basically when you're half awake, half asleep, unable to move and your dreams mix in with reality creating a very "seemingly" real horrifying experience.

this is by far one of the worst thing to happen. in my terms nightmare is not same as this. i mean a nightmare is just something scary and then you wake up ordeal. sleep paralysis...oh man. essentially you get the nightmare but you cant wake up...shit lol. Actually its more of that you know you are awake but you cant wake up and cant move. when you are in that state your mind kinda "disconnects" from the body (not the heart or lungs) and your body is dead thinking the mind is asleep and there is nothing to do.
my example:
i had a scare in my dream and i tried to run and move...but i couldnt. however i could FEEL my signals telling my arm and leg to move.i could feel my joints kinda move but only like a millimeter. i tried to open my eyes but they wouldnt open, not like they were stuck but the muscles would not listen i felt like a quadriplegic. i was forced to just stare and witness my "nightmare" with the full experience...it was so bad. luckily i kinda woke up and realized i just needed to focus my mind and it went away.
my lucid dreaming for the first time:+ Show Spoiler +i was in my college apartment with my future roommates and we were moving in. my dream had events as if it really happened, like i played jokes on my roommates by trying to scare them around the corner when they were moving in their stuff (gay i know) or i was trying to help them move etc...you know making "memories". shortly our "neighbors" knocked on our door and asked if we wanted to play ultimate frisbee. we agreed (even though i dont like the sport), got dressed and went outside. when we went outside it was bright day (when the neighbors visited it was night) and we were having a legit conversations like and i had to think up actual replies to replies made by my "roommates." I then realized that i was dreaming for some reason but was unsure. so i tried to look into a mirror (do not try this if you get frightened easily or hate the freddy cougar mirror shit) and tried to see my reflection. all i could see was "static" on the mirror. i tried to refocus my image and it came up foggy (as in coming out of a hot shower). again i tried to refocus and kinda saw my reflection by wiping the mirror....and then i woke up. lol

i was debating making this thread myself. i've got a few fun ones.
1. this one happened multiple times when i was 9ish. i'm in a dark alley with my parents and zombies start coming, so i pull out the chain gun and start tearing shit up. then all of the sudden i'm in my grandparents' house hiding in the washroom. i take a peek into the hall to see my dad pushing a shopping cart with a vampire.
2. this one when i was about 14. i'm playing ocarina of time and all of the sudden i'm inside the game. I'm walking through the kokiri forest and then fell into a pit trap kind of thing. then the mask seller appears at the lip of the pit and smiles down at me. then he gives me the crazy mad smile that he only gives when you don't give him his money, and a giant rat jumps on me and bites my neck and kills me, at which point i woke up sweating and i couldn't even look out from under my sheets, let alone fall back asleep. scariest dream ever.
EDIT: here's a picture of that scary mofo
![[image loading]](http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091218032629/zelda/images/a/a3/Angry_Mask_Salesman_%28Ocarina_of_Time%29.png)
3. had this once about 3 years ago. i'm sneaking up behind mace windu and chop him in half and he falls into that pit from episode one. then i'm on my street playing basketball and my neighbour's blue pickup tries to run me over, blows a tire, and smashes into a tree, and then i woke up.
fun times indeed.

I think I might have the same thing as you. Before I used to smoke a copious amount of weed, I had the ability to control the settings/actions of my dreams (lucid dreaming). But these days, I don't even remember any of my dreams at all. Weed is making me forget my dreams before I even wake up. Maybe I should quit :D I have been smoking literally everyday for the past two years.

In almost all of my dreams, i have almost full control of what happens. In some of them i won't become conscious that i'm dreaming, but in most of them do. For example last night i decided that i wanted to change my dream about watching my friends fight each other on my front lawn and travel into ancient Greece... It became a confusing hodgepodge of guys in armor on horses walking down the streets of suburbia. And then i found a time machine. Dreams never make sense when you're awake.

Man for some reason I have been having some really weird dreams lately, and i can't for the life of me remember what they are about, I can only remember vague images of what they might be about. (So vague that I can't remember) Maybe I'll write down my dream when I wake up tomorrow. But hey its cool when you kind of remember your dreams on a consistent basis.

Awesome thread
I've been trying on and off to lucid dream for the past...4 years? I can train myself to have lucid dreams, but I am such a light sleeper than they never last for long. It is a great feeling though, when you realize you're dreaming and that you can do ANYTHING you want.
The thing that caught me by surprise with lucid dreaming was that remembering a lucid dream was just like remembering a normal dream...it just feels...off. When I think back on memories I have of lucid dreams, it feels nothing like remember a real life event. Very strange.

When I was around five I had one of the craziest dreams ever
There I was, the Red Ranger, fighting alongside the other fellow power rangers, kicking some monster ass and getting into our zords to own the larger version when it respawned. Me and the rangers then went back to base, apparently there was something important... The power rangers asked me if I had sneakers. I looked down at my feet.. I was wearing white socks... I look back up and shake my head "No I don't have sneakers". They tell me I can't be red ranger anymore if I don't have sneakers disappointed, I woke up and that was that
