Introduction
In LIGHT (get it? LOL) of all the nominations occurring over at the "Nominate Someone to Win a Beta Key" thread I've decided to create a thread and a poll about what exactly is going on over there. With all this "I NOMINATE MYSELF PLEASE GIVE ME" madness going on over there let's weed out the fun stuff shall we? Seriously ... a thing named Dawkling mistakenly puts it out there that it is a girl, then goes and says its a guy who dates other guys ... LOL check the "Is Dawkling gay?" spoiler below.
Now as far as nominations go, the ones where we actually have one person nominating ANOTHER person (not themselves), the nominator must have created the account well before the actual posting of the nominations thread. This weeds out all those 1 posters who are probably all the same person nominating him or her self over and over again (funny story below).
So lets get on to the nominations shall we? Also, I just realized there's no point in creating a poll because people will just vote from different locations on themselves.

Now I know this isn't 100% accurate but I just flipped through the pages to see what names I saw a lot and those were the ones that turned up. Completely agreeable in my honest opinion. Now, how many self nominations did I see? Over 300, which makes the thread that has only 400 posts have around 75% of self voters ... do these people actually think they're going to get a key? ^^

MrHoon - enough said heh thanks for the nomination. it's true that i don't have a beta key but i've already been offered one by staff/friends and i've refused probably 4 or 5 times now. i'm going to be super busy this summer with work and studying for the MCAT so i don't want to be distracted. i'd rather have a beta key go to someone who will play daily and get the most mileage out of it, rather than someone like me who would only play once or twice a week. Choosing school + work over beta I wish I had that much control.

Great work you did there.
I don't blame them tho, had my ego be smaller I would've voted myself too. Beta key to the 'sequel' of the best game ever is pretty desirable stuff.

Add Ver and Kau to your list. They have both gotten votes, and are insanely deserving.
I also think that people from each area of the forum who contribute alot should get keys.
Ie someone from strategy, blogs, general, etc...
Makes it easier to seperate people who contribute heavily but only seen by small groups of people.

You have said things like it's very conceited to do so, that it feels weird, that you're undeserving, etc. You nominate yourselves because you have been a fan of the game since 1945; because you still play bw everyday; because "everyone else is doing it"; because you read TL on a daily basis (I'm looking at you 1 post "lurkers"). Some of you don't even give a reason. What's worse, some of you don't even nominate other people to hide the fact that you're all selfish drones that clamor at any opportunity for a beta key. I mean, have some humility. If your gut says you're undeserving of it, then go with your gut and don't nominate yourself. If your gut tells you you're deserving, then you're far more undeserving than you realize. Heck, even I don't deserve a key and you think you do? Just.. ugh.. no words for you people..

Kau, I did nominate one other person than me, and do I think i'm more deserving more than any other person on this forum? No. I don't. But nominating myself is a infinite more chance of being chosen than having my name no where in the thread. I want to play beta just as much as the next person does and if posting in one silly little thread gives me some sort of chance? Then you bet your ass I will, and would do it again in a heartbeat.
