When I met Emma at a Christmas party she seemed lovely. I put my hand on her knee and said: "I think you’re the most beautiful girl in the world and I really, really mean that." Moments later our lips had locked and we were kissing.
After a few dates I realised she was special. She treated me with respect, was always the perfect lady and our sex life was fantastic.
After two months of dating she’d all but moved in and four months later I proposed with the words: "I want you to say yes because I’ve never loved a girl as much as I love you, and I want to make you happy for the rest of your life."
Her eyes filled with tears and she said yes.

sounds like a text out of a cheap love novel. But good for you if it's true

^ wow dude, you don't waste time! But you seem really happy,so that's a good thing. My girlfriend lives 900 miles away from me and in another country, so that plus the fact we're both broke college students makes that super hard. We do, however plan to get married within the next year or so in a kind of no-frills courthouse/back-yard kind of thing. Will come back to this thread to post pics of us together the next time we meet, which hopefully won't be too long. I've never known a girl like her, and I never knew relationships were supposed to feel so.. right. ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif)
PS. Don't get involved in a long distance relationship unless you're positive that person has no replacement. It's exceptionally difficult, or at least it is for the 2 of us. x:

Wait, I ain't finished telling the story. Please... Listen to me... The bitch led me right into a trap!
Thinking about our upcoming marriage made Emma realise she was yet to meet my whole family.
She said: 'The one person I haven’t met is your dad' - we hadn’t been close since my parents split eight years earlier.
She saw our engagement as a way of bridging the gap and bringing us together. She was determined our wedding would bring us closer.
We all became very close after that meeting and went out for drinks and to clubs together.
A year ago Emma and I were at dad’s house after a Saturday night out. Dad and her were drunk but I was sober as I was on call for work, in case the alarm went off.
We’d only been in five minutes when I got a call out. I phoned from work ten minutes later to say there’d been a break in and I wouldn’t be home for a few hours.
She told me she would sleep in the spare room at dad's, as she didn’t fancy going home on her own.
She sat with dad on the sofa with a glass of wine, and suddenly he turned to her and said: "I don’t think I’ve ever seen you looking this attractive."
She was shocked, told him to stop it and pulled her short skirt down as it had accidentally ridden up. But he put his hand on her thigh.
She turned to him and suddenly they kissed, but then she thought about me and stopped him, saying: "This isn’t right, it isn’t fair on Terry." His face dropped and he said: "You’re right."
She decided the best thing to do was go to the spare room, get undressed and into bed. As she lay under the covers the initial adrenalin rush had been replaced by fear.
Dad appeared at her bedroom door and sat on the bed: "I’m really sorry for what happened just now. Please don’t tell Terry, he must never find out."
Her emotions were all over the place, she pulled him towards her and they started kissing and minutes later they were having sex.
An hour later I came home, but she couldn’t look me in the eye.
'For the next three months she saw dad when I wasn’t around, and tried to carry on as though nothing had happened.
'Telling me the truth would mean I lost my dad again, and I’d be unable to forgive her. If Emma and I ate tea together she’d suddenly well up and have to rush out of the kitchen so I didn’t see her in tears.
During all of this turmoil, I was planning the wedding.
After three months of this charade she became so exhausted she told dad they had to come clean. Dad panicked and said: "You can’t, he’ll never speak to me again."
I knew something was wrong and asked: "Is everything OK?"
She took my hand and said: "I’m really sorry, but for the past few months I’ve been seeing your dad. I really like you but I don’t love you. I love Darren."
I laughed, thinking she was joking. But when she walked up to dad, took his hand and started to cry, my face dropped.
I threw himself at dad and we started fighting. Eventually I marched to the front door and screamed: "I hope you two will be happy together, in hell!"
I’m getting over it. But I still think it’s a nasty thing to do. I feel quite embarrassed about it. I don’t know if I’ll ever be friends with my dad again, well definitely not while he’s with her. I’ve just got to get over it and I am.
