I'd say is pretty annoying at times, especially when you get interrupted by them >_< | ||

when I am in game, i hardly notice anything else besides the game. I have literally had people come up to me later and purportedly, have conversations with me while I am playing, and I have absolutely no recollection of what they said. you think in the middle of being reaver dropped, i'm gonna click some penis enhancement ad? | ||

In-game advertising is ok as long as the suspension of disbelief is not lost. In the context of video games, this usually applies to sports/racing games, as advertisements in professional games are everywhere. They are not appropriate in games where advertisements like these would not be found, such as a billboard with a coke soda advertisement in World of Warcraft. In a fantasy/sci-fi setting, made-up advertisement could be acceptable, but only in the context of the game. Using WoW as an example again, they do use made-up advertising, as there's a lady walking around in ironforge yelling at everyone to buy her bread. This is a good portrayal, as in medieval times and the transition to steampower, the only way to advertise was by way of paper or by shouting in the streets. | ||
